It was my first visit, and with a friend. We went to a Thrive class (Mark) It was an excellent class. The front desk was helpful also. We also had guidance at the pool for scheduling. Overall staff is excellent.
People are so nice!
The staff and instructors are always welcoming, kind and knowledgable.
The class offerings are for all ages and abilities.
The web site is now functioning beautifully and is very convenient.
As a retiree, it is wonderful to have a community of physically active friends to
spend time with each week. I do hope to branch out more and explore the offerings at other Y’s in the triangle.
Well taken care of. Clean. Lots of options for activities.
Th classes offered are great. The people are all very friendly and helpful. It would be nice to have fans in the gym when we are in Byron’s class on Mondays.

I visited this Y from another one to see what they had there and ask about instructors. Desk staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Mark’s Thrive classes
People are friendly, there are young and old all together. Staff is friendly, and it’s clean.
Clean, lots of windows and equipment. Plus, many cycle classes.
The friendly staff and great equipment
The facility, equipment and employees are the best out of all the Ys I've been to in the area.
I love going to the Y! The people are very friendly and the facility is very clean!
I enjoy the little things about this YMCA, like being greeted every time I check in, and for the folks working there always being willing to help me out. The machines are well maintained, and most of the time other members put things back where they belong which is nice.
Great instructors, lots of classes, beautiful facilities, friendly staff!
There is a variety of classes and extensive facilities.
Everyone there is always so friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The staff is always glad you were there and happy to help you.
My son has such a great time at the after school program. When I pick him up, he's always in the middle of something fun and is reluctant to leave. He has also learned so much at the YMCA, getting exposed to new games and challenges. And I think it's been helpful for him to be exposed to older kids in a social setting. I can see him developing stronger social skills through his participation in the program.
I play pickleball 3 times a week there and have developed a great community of friends.
Friendly staff. Clean & modern facility.
I love the facility- not your standard Y and that is great. It has some character, while offering the latest amenities. Super staff. Often has some available desirable class spots, day before, which many local Ys do not have. The elevated studio with windows is so nice.
I grew up at the YMCA on Hillsborough Street starting in 1968 - a member of the "Y Youth Corps". So many memories there during my childhood including after school activities, monthly Y Dances on Saturday nights, and family nights where my mother and I would "play" together in the pool, "paddle ball" (racketball) and the gym. The Alexander building is new and different now but still provides me with wonderful opportunities to get exercise, social interaction and meeting new friends in the classes I attend. Since rejoining the Y in 2015, with my then 16 year old daughter, I loved attending the Y even more. While my daughter has since left for college and remained living in Europe, when she comes home for visits, we always love coming to the Y for Byron's cardio-dance classes. I attend on my own as much as possible even though I am splitting my retirement time between Raleigh and Louisville, KY due to my grandchildren. While I try to attend a Louisville YMCA, I enjoy it but it's just not the same as the Alexander Y.
My son attends the YMCA After Care Program at Wiley Elementary and I really like it. Maya, Leah, and Caroline are great camp counselors. They are communicative with parents and very kind and approachable with the kids. I am very satisfied with our experience.
JORDAN!!! He is absolutely phenomenal - the kids love him. He disciplines when needed but in the right way. My kids don't want to leave when I pick them up so that basically says it all :-)
Classes, instructors, people that work there. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Good work they do for the community and the sense of community and belonging they create for members

It takes the stress of worrying about your child away. I know she is safe, learning and enjoying the activities provided by the YMCA
