Lexi is great & very organized! Also glad the kids aren't busing over to the pool this year & sticking with water play at Pullen; they seem far less tired & wiped out by the end of camp this year.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The opportunities to workout are diverse and broadly appealing. The amenities are great.
Great instructors, friendly staff, and the app has improved a lot over the last couple of years!
I like basketball court and the machines seem in great condition
Clean, friendly, lots of classes, good people
Everything
Energetic, committed, caring, and diverse staff.
Friendly, welcoming, great classes, ample equipment and space to workout at your own pace and needs. Love it.
Lexi is an incredible leader! She and ALL of her staff have really made the camp like home for my girls!
Kids were very happy and had a great time!
I love my Thrive classes and my fellow classmates!
The staff is always lovely and helpful!
And the facility clean and bright!
I have been a member since I moved to NC in 2018. The facility is top notch and most of the staff are friendly; However, I had a BAD experience with Kathy, a service member at Alexander. She is closed 8/1/2025. 5 minutes before closing, she came to the female and informed everyone the Y was closing in 5. No problem with that. The ladies , including me, hurried to leave in 5 minutes. While I was dressing up by the lockers, she said , “It’s time to go! The Y is closed!” Her tone was not professional but I went ahead an said just give 2 minutes. It was 8:02 and had to go get tissue from restroom. From nowhere, she assertively said, “You have to leave, NOW!”
I told her that was rude and unprofessional and that I’ll report to corporate. She said go ahead that she has worked there for 10 years. I don’t know she said that. I walked out of there 8:05 and there were kids walking out at the same time. Why would she harass me when there were other people in the building?
That was a bad experience with Kathy. Never had this problem with anyone else
The Alexander day camps have been great. I always feel that my daughter is safe and well taken care of each day. We attended three weeks of camp and my daughter came home each day so excited to tell us about the activities and friends she made. The counselors are all wonderful and make an effort to know the parents of each child. We also participate in Y afterschool through Alexander so it was so comforting to see familiar faces this summer. Great experience!
My kids loved their counselors and the different activities available throughout the day. Thank you YMCA!
The people are kind, sincere, and very helpful. The facilities are excellent except 1 suggestion: some of the showers in the women's locker room have mold on the tiles and shower curtains, and it would be great to check/clean them more frequently. But that's the only suggestion I have -- everything else is top-notch and I have already recommended it to two colleagues.
Variety of sports, machines, classes!
It's a happy safe place for younger kids. We miss the bus to swimming but it's fine.
many activities ....plenty of room ...friendly staff
My son has really enjoyed his camp skyline experience. It has been a good mix of activities. I appreciate the weekly email providing info on the week’s theme and the thumping Thursdays seem like a lot of fun. The counselors have been great.
The variety of activities.
Great programs
It's a fun and welcoming environment with a lot of interaction and activity and a good staff to kid ratio
There are many different options for classes, equipment, track and pool. My daughter and I love Byron's dance class on Monday nights!
Continuity -- stability -- wholesomeness -- wide open spaces with lots of sunlight -- equipment (weights) -- elliptical machine (you got rid of good old fashioned bikes and replaced with "modern ones" that do not accommodate someone of my height - leg length!)
Nice, comfortable environment. Low key. Stress free (most of time) Simple, familiar. Accessible.
People I known for decades. I like to see all of the kids running around and know of the good programs you provide.
Free towels and wonderful steam room and sauna. Good, high pressure showers. Although, the cleanliness of the shower area and the space outside the stream room and sauna is, sometimes,
off-putting -- I understand, hard to keep that good on a constant basis.
I like the fact that, periodically, you will let down and out homeless people lounge about in the locker room for a while, napping in a chair -- that is compassion.
Although I am not a Christian, I do admire and much appreciate you orientation to the betterment
of the community!
Commend, for dedication and good service: First name removed Ham (from the bottom to the top) Jon Mills --
a stalwart, and Eric too, Michael, steady presence behind desk, Scoop, Harrison, Megan Cates!
Mari, the new girl, took Jessica's place? -- Sara Click -- dedication, service. Many others, these people give a sense of continuity and belonging.
BTW: you should pay your employees more! 2025 $11.00 and hour!!! Come on now.
I enjoy the classes and exercise equipment. I like the friendly welcoming staff. I like the diversity of people who come to and work at the Y. It feels like home.
Everything! The counselors have been amazing and my daughters are so excited each week they are there. They have fun and exciting themes for the kids and the director shows up and shows out each week on dress up day!! It's so fun and makes me feel really good about them being there, so I can get some work done during the summer. I split up camps between a few different places this summer because it was our first year doing summer camp, but next year we will be at the Y every week of the summer!
Everyone is friendly and helpful and knowledgeable! And there are so many different things to do!
Modern gym equipment
Polite people, warm and friendly environment!
