The community feels less intimidating than other YMCAs in the triangle I have attended classes. Additionally, I love the way in which the building was designed with separate floors for different activities; I don't know why, but my brain loves the distinction between everything and its different uses! Also, the staff is way more visible at this location, making it feel easier to ask questions and get help when needed.

Overall I like that it's generally very welcoming, generally not a place like crunch or gold's, and the overall sense of community you feel entering.
I dislike seeing people with overtly political shirts in what is a very charged climate currently. And the number of people that don't wipe their stuff when they're done or put equipment away is frustrating. Though it's not unique to the Y, I'm just surprised to see it as prevalent given the feeling of community.
I'm bummed that some of the cable machines seem to be removed following the rearranging - like the calf raise when there appears to be more than adequate room to fit it. The alternative is either leg press machine which are routinely taken.
I use the gym equipment and the track. The facility is well organized and clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.
Desk staff always greets you. Patrons share the equipment and let one another work in. Great place to unwind.

Amazing friendly clean, well resourced safe place to work out, stretch in the sauna, take classes, swim, shower, meet people and run into old friends.
The group fitness instructors are the best! PJ, Matt, First name removed Beth, and Cheri continue to inspire me and I always look forward to their classes! Their efforts to present new and challenging exercises on a regular basis is much appreciated. Thank you!
