My. Son loves going to the ymca
My daughter has been in the program for several years and is now a CIT. great opportunity for growth
Miss Eliza is the best. The YMCA is very lucky to have her. The kids respect her and she truly loves what she does. I feel safe knowing she is there around my child
Traffic is the biggest detractor. Perhaps the Y could hire a police officer to direct traffic for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon?
The variety of activities that they do with the kids.
Counselors genuinely happy to be there and kids are happy to go
Gym
I find the snack situation a bit of a challenge. Given that we cannot send anything with nuts and there is no refrigeration of snacks, recommend that snacks be provided by the camp.
Camp Tepee is the best! My daughter is excited for each day. She's never bored and her counselors are always engaged and caring. Cannot wait for her to go back later this summer.
The Woodruff YMCA is a great place for kids to meet and have fun in the summer
I wish on extremely hot days the kids could go inside.
My daughter thinks it is the best summer camp experience. She loves the councilors, camp friends she's made, the activities and field trips.
While I greatly appreciate the Stingrays swim program very much, I do feel much more attention needs to go to the coaching structure and support. I do feel more specialized coaching and training should be considered. Swim has become an extremely competitive and specialized sport, and it is important to keep our swimmers engaged and growing as they mature through the program. I also think it would be very, very important to improve the culture among the swim team members and their coaches. More dedication to building bonds between team members and ensuring mutual support. Most importantly, I think more attention should be given to the mental health development of our swimmers. Our children are growing up in extraordinarily challenging times. A successful swim program needs to not only focus on their physical development, but their emotional development as well.
Staff are friendly helpful and professional. The facility is clean.
Child watch is great, wish there were more hours for it.
The staff are very knowlegable and very good with the children.
Stratford Y needs to be cleaner and cooler in the summer. The downstairs classroom is fine, but the upstairs equipment room is too warm to be comfortable, even just walking on the treadmill. The class offerings are limited. All of the focus seems to be on the programs for children.
Staff and members are all so friendly. It makes you feel you are part of something good.
Coach Marta creates a great atmosphere for the kids and families.
I have very much enjoyed water aerobics, swim classes and the pool!
Fairfield Y as an institution has everything in place to ensure a safe, clean, orderly, accredited swim education program for children and adults. Specifically, the Fairfield YMCA under its capable leader, Amanda, and all the instructors provide personal, compassionate, and FUN leadership to the children in swim classes and camps my family has attended year round for several years. I could say so much more. Thank you, Amanda and the whole Fairfield YMCA team.
Very clean pool
Well, we joined not knowing what was going on this summer with the camp at the facility.
Our goal was to walk in the swimming pool..but due to the summer camp that isn't really possible during the day (8:30am-5:30 or later PM).
We are disappointed, and are going to speak to them in person within the next few days.
We also got a couple of friends to join, but overall, they are disappointed also.
Poorly trained swim instructors, lifeguards did not always get pay attention to young swimmers in water. Limited flexibility in class scheduling
My son has improved his swimming skills and confidence so much in just one class season at the Y. All my children have learned/ are learning to swim at the Y and after having my son do swim lessons at the local rec dept for a year, I know the Y is the best place to learn this valuable life skill.
Amazing leadership and staff!
I am happy to continue my physical therapy recommendations using the arm bicycle, stationary bike and treadmill. Hope to use the pool and weight machines for my chest soon.
United Healthcare dropped my coverage so I am paying the monthly fee and appreciate the monthly low income discount.
Ms. Susie was a fantastic, patient, and diligent instructor, who was a joy to work with as we helped our little guy learn to become more comfortable in the water.
It’s a welcoming family.
The facilities are clean and inviting, and our experience with the swim instructions has been amazing!

My son loves the games, activities and of course, swimming. It’s the perfect camp.
