Awesome clean great staff
I have been impressed with Haselwood Family YMCA for many reasons over the last year. The facility is large and has a good layout which makes it feel roomy. I appreciate the attention to the cleanliness of the facility and the cleaning staff seems to always be working hard with attention to detail. It is evident that proper maintenance of the equipment is a priority which is awesome. The staff I've encountered are helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The environment and atmosphere is very welcoming and inviting. The variety of offerings from classes, events, the social gatherings, to lessons cover a great span of ages across the board.
There is just one minor thing I've encountered that is a little frustrating and that is pickleball court assignments. I participated in the PB workshop earlier this year and over 50 people came! Mainly beginners attended and there was lots of excitement surrounding the event. Unfortunately, the suggested loose assignment of beginner, intermediate, and challenge courts are not followed. It is very intimidating as a new player to play someone who is "challenge court" capable. I've also witnessed someone being told to move their paddle from the queue because they weren't good enough and to wait. There seems to be a very spirited competitive atmosphere that dominates. I understand it's not easy to manage this popular activity. An idea is there are 4 nets, it seems reasonable to have 1 net set up and set aside and posted for beginners only.

Everything I need to stay fit.
I love the atmosphere--it's gorgeous inside and has a lot of various equipment. I love the support of kids activities and look forward to bringing my grandson to the water slide when he visits. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I am a bit concerned about the cleanliness of the very old mats as they have very porous surfaces and are impossible to clean with the wipes.

I like to see all the smiling faces and the exuberance that people show while working out or doing whatever they do there. I enjoy the kids and get great satisfaction knowing that I and other members donate to help people, esp. children, have the opportunity of joining programs at the YMCA. And I personally like the facility and the way it has so much to offer an octogenarian like me.
We have a business networking meeting in the Community Room on Wednesday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30 and it's the best business networking in Silverdale. I am also a member who works out twice a week and the facility is at it's best- clean, all machines are working, friendly staff, and longer hours. I promote it all the time.

The Hazelwood family YMCA cares about the community. We appreciated their pumpkin jam party that they put on for everyone in conjunction with new life. It turned out to be such a lovely community experience.

We recently moved here from Spokane where we were members of the North Spokane Y, and were pleased to find the Haselwood Y. My wife and I really like it. The track upstairs is great and all the facilities are wonderful. It's also well taken care of and very clean. We're pleased to be members.
