I love the Gordon YMCA! Friendly staff, competent instructors, lots of choices for classes! I’ve been a member since I moved to Sumner 7 years ago, even through the Covid time when we did classes on zoom.

It is a large facility with plenty of good quality, well cared for equipment and very friendly staff.
We like the openness and everyone is so friendly. Hopefully they get more nue-steps sometimes we've waited up to 45 minutes as they are very needed. Also live the physical theropy there. If one of us are in needed of therapy the other one can work out or walk on the track inside. They also have wonderful resources and activities for all ages
The staff is so kind and professional at the Gordon Family Y. Classes and registration feel organized and thought out. We have had excellent teachers in both child and adult classes. As a homeschooling family the class options are amazing and new options are being added often. The facility is clean and maintained well. Our family recommends it to everyone!

Your maintenance personnel went far and above to help me today, especially Adam. I returned to my vehicle this morning to find a dead battery. When I came in to ask for assistance the front desk was able to find Adam. There was a battery charger behind the front desk that was not usable but Adam knew that and came out with a new battery jump pack.
The dead battery was the smallest part of today's problem. Your staff doesn't know all the details of what a simple dead battery caused me but they sure did lift a large weight off my shoulders by what they did!

Your front desk personnel went fast and above to help me today, especially Tina. I returned to my vehicle this morning to a dead battery. When I came in to ask for assistance Tina immediately knew who she needed to contact to help me. That individual was not found at the moment so I returned to my car to try another avenue. While I was waiting one of your maintenance employees found me and informed me the front desk found help. They continued to look for the right person to help even when I had left the counter. The dead battery was the smallest part of today's problem. Only comment today is I think you should stock unscented wipes for the machines. The scented ones are strong smelling and could be an issue with some people
So my complaint is that Wendy (water aerobics instructor) she brings her grandchildren and she is very distracted with that and also she talks during the whole class with people and is very easily distracted and doesn't have us change what we are doing evenly. It's not even new people she's helping its just talking, I dread coming when she is teaching but i still go and i end up doing my own thing. Kristi and Kelly are very good and i love how they change things up.
6:30 am boot camp; new guy is doing a great job! He takes the time to welcome everyone and assist them if we need extra help.
My child loves the programs that she has taken at the y. The instructors are knowledgeable and do a great job.

Nice variety; the Digital Animation class is my grandson's favorite. The Preschool Storybook Art is my granddaughter's favorite. My 5 year old granddaughter learned lots in the gymnastics class. All the instructors are good; some are great. Some of the swim instructors make very good use of time and know how to keep the young ones on target. Wish group swim lessons were available during the summer. YMCA is our "go-to" for fun, aquiring skills and learning the importance of exercise. Also, Gordon Family YMCA pool is awesome for kids!!!
I like the options of programs, the pool, the courts, the weight lifting areas, the rooms to see yourself in the mirror work on form, etc. the staff is pretty cool too
I wish more gym equipment could be added. Like for example a hack squat machine for legs. More hammer strength machines for chest and back to hit different variations in the back and chest. Also a calve dedicated machine would be awesome too. My only issue is there’s a lot of equipment missing. And a lot of room to redue the gym to be able to have those equipment.
It would be nice to have a way to know open climb. If it was on the website weekly? A number we can call? I have called the Gordon location only to get someone working remote. It’s happened twice they give me the wrong time for climb. Very frustrating! Especially on a Monday… There’s no way to know you just have to show up and hope you’re right. Wish there was another system.
There is a problem with the bins of swim fins in the pool area. Fins are always mixed up and difficult to find the sizes we are looking for. I think it is because people are generally lazy in placing them in the correct bin when they are done. But it could also be that kids and people with poor eyesight cannot see the sizes marked on the fins. A solution that could help is to replace all the blue signs in each bin with a sign that not only tells us the size but also is colored to correspond with the color of the fins. e.g. gray, orange, blue, red, orange, yellow, purple, green signs. These signs are laminated sheets of paper, low cost and maybe one hour to make on a printer at most.
