It's a friendly place. I love seeing so many people, of all ages, engaged in activities to increase their health. I appreciate its cleanliness. I don't have grandchildren in the area, so seeing all the children is heartwarming too. I appreciate the Y's effort to expand offerings, especially to kids, and to offer those programs through scholarships. What I do not appreciate is the continual expansion of membership. It's already too crowded.

I love everything about the Tom Taylor Family YMCA! The facilities are bright, clean, open, well-maintained, with a wide range of equipment. They have a full schedule of classes for every age group. The staff is friendly, helpful and make me feel welcome. It's the best YMCA I've ever been to. I highly recommend it for anyone in the Gig Harbor/Tacoma area!
My wife, Rose, and I have not been back to the Y in quite a while because of Covid, Family Events, Work, Music, property maintenance and a few other things. But, for the New Year, we decided to return on a regular basis. We were pleasantly surprised at the updating and new equipment in the facility, when we walked in.

I think the YMCA is a great experience for the money. I recommend people all of the time. Adding a few more massage chairs would be good, as I am paying extra, but generally theres a lengthy wait for the 2 that are available.
Friendly staff that greets you warmly when you arrive. They are open to questions on equipment usage. The variety and amount of equipment is great. We need to try out the pool.

Casiana is my favorite Zumba and weights enhance fitness. I love Tai-chi with Angela and Darryl. TRX with Karen.
Please supply a few inversion tables.
Availability of equipment. Many choices of exercises. Friendly and help staff.
Respect and responsibility are expectation while using the facility. It is a safe environment for all. It is mostly always clean. And people are mostly friendly.

Love the pool and open lap swim times. Good classes, helpful staff. A special "thank you" to the ladies afternoon locker room staff who cut off a non-working lock so I could get into my clothes. All the instructors have been friendly and helpful. Great front desk staff, also. Nice indoor track.

I have been very pleased with my experience with the YMCA. I was disappointed when you added the new machines upstairs for "a trial Period", with members paying extra if they wanted to subscribe. This is a move outside what the YMCA has typically done.
In comparison to other Y's the way the machines are organized with all strength equipment on one floor and all cardio on another. The design and analysis done during this process was very well managed.
The staff is very courteous, friendly and helpful and the instructors are excellent.
The Y is usually very clean, however just yesterday I noticed all the bases for signs were very dirty and dusty.

It has such a great family homey feel. It’s great that u can find little nooks to do a solo-ish workout if u want. Love the sauna
I am enjoying the new exercise equipment that was recently installed cardio equipment. The only issue is the bicycle upright in the south east corner by the track are facing directly into the sun when it’s out, it is unbearable to ride the bikes staring into the sun previously they faced the track, which was fine. They also had live TV which the new bikes do not have at this time the other track bikes that you sit and ride do so I’m not sure why the standup bikes haven’t been hooked up to live TV . I’ve also spoke with other members that aren’t happy with the way. The bikes are set up at this time. Not sure if anything can be done, but I would appreciate it if you could at least get back with me and tell me why it cannot be the way it was thank you very much. Have a great day.

I love the yin yoga class where the lights were off (are they might have been very very dimmed I can't remember) the last one I went to they weren't all on, but the ones that were on were still so bright. Is there any way to have them more dimmed or off? Much easier to relax without bright lights in your face.
Also kudos to Miss Manda at toddler gym, she's always so good with the kids and we love her!
I wish there was a more accessible area with weights nearby where us moms could work out with our child next to us. Even one more medium sized alcove with weights nearby would make it much more family friendly.
We found there isn't enough experienced help at child watch to interact with our toddler who had developmentally normal separation anxiety.
Without the childcare option, working out is challenging, leaving us to find parent and child friendly areas with weights.
Weight rack by the gym/big toy play area would be a great option!
Or the option to drop my toddler off while I workout in the gym next to toddler gym if I'm able to get away from my toddler for even 10min occasionally to lift! I understand the logistics of making drop off official, would be a lot of ask, but just trying to brainstorm ways for us moms to workout while within loose eyesight of our kiddos while supervised, or even while they're on the big toy and were within sight, would be ideal for many of us.
I love the YMCA. The reason for my outreach is utter frustration with your registration system for programs. I've spent 45 minutes selecting and enrolling my son in summer camps - both Helena and Tom Taylor. Now, at the finish line, the payment page says processing and then comes back to the page without completing the transaction. My enrollments are still in the cart. Every time I try to pay, including trying a new card, it gives me an error "too many transactions". I'm beyond upset at this point, I just want to enroll my son in camp. I wish you'd get a better system or offer live support - there's no number, no chat. This is unacceptable in today's time. Please consider reinvesting in support or improve your systems.
