Hands down it is the staff. Unfortunately, I do not know all of their names. I wish I did because I have not met a single staff member who was not professional, friendly and very helpful. Here are a few of the staff whose names I do know: Front desk: Kathy (Cathy) … the others are great too though!. Administrative staff: Chris. Trainers: Shannon, Debbie, Elisha, Janet. However, there are other trainers I have viewed from afar and they too really get into it and encourage their class members to do what they feel comfortable doing. I have been exercising for about 50 years in various gyms over the years. Desert Hills YMCA is the most friendly and professional that I have encountered. For most folks, I assume, exercising is a “should” versus an activity one cannot wait to do multiple times a week. At this YMCA though I think most, if not all, of us who take advantage of the classes which are offered genuinely look forward to participating. That is saying a lot. Terry

The Y is such a fun place, a lot of great classes, with awesome instructors, great machines, and always something going on. I have been a member since this Y opened, and I have never been tempted to go somewhere else.

I love the AOA class with Shannon and Deb. All the workers are very friendly and it's a great atmosphere.
Pool is great and Y staff is great. Like the work out machines. Wish there was a hot tub.

It's a well maintained facility with pleasant staff. It offers a variety of cardio and strength machines and classes. The parking has become a real challenge.
It’s become my lifestyle… my happy place. I love the challenge of some of the classes.… The teachers are awesome. Gym has a has updated equipment….All the classes are fun and afterwards I feel like I’ve accomplished something.

Paul and I were visiting the area in January and we dropped in for a workout. Kira was on duty and she was so friendly and helpful. I lost my pass card and she made me a new one in less than a minute! I found her to be very approachable when I needed help with starting a machine I was unfamiliar with. We really enjoyed coming here several times during our stay in Tempe, and plan to return.
Too dirty
The broad range of offerings, especially the aquatics program (lap swimming and lessons) and senior-focused activities (silver sneakers is outstanding). All of the staff are friendly and helpful.
