I like the spaciousness of the Y, compared to previous gym-the fees are reasonable and like the variety of gym equipment. The instructors in the classes I take are great!

I like the equipment. Some machines are monopolized by individuals longer than I prefer such as the Pull Down machine. They camp out on that machine15 to 20 minutes and I can do my work on that machine in 5 minutes. Frustrating. At 15 minutes I usually request to break in for 5 minutes. Hard to police this but as new members and kids with cell phones tend to not follow the protocols. It might be good to emphasize this at sign-up.
Otherwise people seem to respect the 10 minutes and move off of the machines. I am just busy and do a fast paced workout on 6 machines once a week. Moving from machine to machine without much warming down is important. I have been a member since opening and really enjoy the facility even though I only use it once a week. Thanks.
Lots of options for classes and friendly staff and members.
The location is great for me. The equipment I want to use is often available with the stair masters sometimes in use or broken.

I've been going to Desert Foothills 5-6 days a week since last summer. What a welcoming place! There are classes for all ages and abilities, the equipment is well-maintained, and the staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. And I have an amazing trainer (Nathan), who with good humor and uncommon skill, is whipping this old body into shape!
