Great facilities! I love how much natural light there is in the weights/machines area. The high ceilings and big windows give it a very airy feel. The whole place always feels very clean and up-to-date.
I live in Richardson, and am a 5-minute walk away from another Y.
I'm 10 minutes away from the Lake Highlands Y, so I recently started driving there because the facility is SO much nicer and has so much more to offer:
- eGym (which isn't available at the Richardson Y). I preferred it when there wasn't an additional monthly fee, but hopefully the fee will motivate me to get there more often and get my $9 worth.
- Indoor pool and an outdoor pool
- Two Group X rooms for a wide variety of classes
It's one of the nicest Y's I've been to in the area. I only wish it had a sauna.
Beautiful facility, friendly staff and wonderful instructors
They have such a variety of classes as well as all the free weights and machines you could ever want. All of the instructors I have had are nice and will modify for you when needed.
The gym and the pool.
We love the Lake Highlands YMCA! There is always plenty of equipment to go around, it’s so clean, and the facilities are so new and well maintained. And all for a great price!
Great staff. Greet you wonderfully and feel very welcome. Patrick is a very helpful trainer. The facilities are great as well.

Water aerobics classes
I love my aqua fitness classes!
Staff is very friendly and everything is clean and well maintained, although sometimes the TV's don't work on all the ellipticals or treadmills. Only complaint is people need to be told NOT to speak on their cellphones while they're exercising on either. I really don't need to hear about what kind of sandwiches a lady is serving at her afternoon tea! LOL.
My daughter had a great time in the lap pool. The front desk was very helpful.
