The instructor is great even though classes are expensive
The gym layout is great. I especially love all the windows which make working out more fun. I love EGym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A big shout out to Gary who is always is so encouraging, and he always has gum to share. He says he read somewhere that chewing gum improves your workouts. The facility is always clean and bright. Just wish it opened early than 1pm on Sundays.
Great teachers and staff. Well lit parking lot. Very clean all the time.
It is very clean and very good gym
I really like this YMCA. The instructors are very good for the group classes, and the locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The equipment is new, clean, and in good working order. Would recommend. Very reasonably priced.
Friendly staff, great locker rooms, modern weight training area. This Y has a very nice neighborhood feel to it, and reflects the multicultural values of Lake Highlands..
Lake Highlands has always been a place of restoration and true community for our family—we genuinely love it here.
The one ongoing frustration, especially during the summer months, is that pickleball takes over the gym every single morning. I appreciate and support people of all ages staying active, and it’s great to see the space so well used. That said, it would be wonderful to see a little more balance during the summer.
Many older kids, teens, and preteens—especially those whose parents are working out in the MORNINGS—would really benefit from having access to the gym as a place to play, unwind, and escape the heat. During those three summer months, it feels a bit unfair that the space isn’t shared more intentionally with the kids who need it too.
Lake Highlands does such a great job fostering community, and finding a way to better share this space would go a long way for families during the summer.
Clean, well-organized, well-equipped... Excellent facility
Swim team and the coaches are awesome. My kids love them.
Coach jackson and EB are great at motivating the kids and perfecting the kids strokes.
I wish the team building / parties were better organized.
I enjoy the full array of gym equipment available especially the E-gym. The large heated pool is amazing and will play a huge part in my fitness program. Well appointed locker rooms, the prayer room, the coffee area, the variety of classes offered are also very impressive.
I especially appreciate Cindy at the front desk who greeted me on my first day and even took me on a tour of the facility explaining everything we passed along the way.
I’m so glad II found the Lake Highlands YMCA.
While there are many family gyms that are more affordable than the YMCA, I really appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and also the friendliness of the personnel. In particular, Gary Butler is always warm, welcoming, and genuine with myself and family members. I see him acknowledge and greet every member he encounters with a smile and a hello each day. People like Gary play a big part in our family’s continued membership with the Lake Highlands YMCA.
The personnel are always friendly and helpful. The equipment is constantly being upgraded and there are lots of machines available.
The person who checked me in was very friendly and welcoming! I believe her name was Cindy.
Friendly. Enjoy the workouts
We did a walk through. Everything was very clean and well designed. Will be coming back to workout!
It’s a wonderful family environment and the staff is top notch.
Everything seems perfect to me! The boys and girls are very professional.
The coaches for the Rapids are some of the most caring, patient, dedicated people. We have watched them coach our child and celebrate her successes, no matter how small.
They worked to determine exactly what her carrot is, and they use it effectively.
LOVE LOVE Lake Highlands YMCA, the staff is amazing very friendly and always greets or happy to help in any way. I swim so I enjoy the swim notices when planning my day out.
Great
I appreciate the extra hour that has been added to the morning lap swim. I have been able to swim more often than before.
I have only one suggestion-the wifi is very poor.
Great pool and locker room
Not crowded
The league was very organized, the refs did a good job of encouraging the kids to play by the rules (out of bounds, dribbling, etc.) while at the same time making sure they were having fun.
A couple pieces of feedback:
1) our picture day was a challenge. The group taking the pictures was late resulting in our team being very early to our game and not getting our pictures done and then having to stay after. Needless to say it resulted in a poor game and pictures experience.
2) The games are too long for the 3 year old groups. They were consistently engaged for 3 quarters and started to lose it in the 4th quarter. I would recommend shortening each quarter by a minute.
Thanks!
Friendly atmosphere, nice facilities and classes
Christian managed. Clean environment.
I enjoy the clean environment and the friendly people. I use the Y every weekday before work. The equipment is clean, the locker rooms are clean and the pool is ready to use. It’s a good experience for me to meet my fitness goals.

The facilities are very nice and well maintained. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We used to go to Plant Fitness but wanted a change as the gym was often too busy and some of the equipment was dated. The switch to the Y was just what we were looking for in a new gym.
