The POOL!
I have a 4year old grandson who really enjoys the kid splash area, and I like the fact that the water is warm.
The sense of community in the pool area
Use of the weight machines
Everything
I like the track around the workout area.
Great people to help you if you have questions. Great equipment and selection to cover everyone's need or want.
I’m a retired person. I primarily use the walking track. I appreciate the cleanliness of the facility. The work done on the pool looks great. There are a variety of classes/activities that meet the needs for all age groups! A great asset to the community!
Great staff and facilities.
It is usually very clean. The equipment is newer and usually working properly. Staff there are friendly and helpful
The lifeguards were so wonderful! The pool was great. Everything was clean.
Staff very nice and pleasant
Especially like to the zero entry of the pool
I love that the sauna is co-ed!
I appreciate an air-conditioned place to walk with this hot July weather!
There are helpful staff people around when needed.
I have only been walking so I haven’t utilized the machines, the pool, or any of the other facility benefits yet.
I have decided to visit all Y’s in our system. I resently visited Mary Free Bed Y on Burton, I used to live out there. Large , state of art, Full of people, but sterile, way too spread out. Front desk, showed no emotion, no interaction, no response, little activity. Lots of activity in the exercise area, but no smiles. It was a hike to get to the gym or exercise area.
Our ability to work with other Y’s (Visser) and share activities, volleyball and swimming, when facilities are down or in need of repair or updating is refreshing, not often seen today.
Our Y, SpartanNash, is well integrated, warm, friendly, accessible, people smile here, well located in an urban area. Front access to the building is warm and inviting, full of active people welcoming and willing to help. News briefs of activities changes or cancellations, recently our pool, is new twist for me. Active management, nice. There were more mirrors in front of our sinks in the locker room, than I saw in Mary Free Bed’s entire building. Children, kids, teens and adults are integrated well within our building, there are always sounds of people being active,. Your inclusion and main streaming of Mary Free Bed PT (I’m a client) and special needs individuals into the floor and exercise area is a real extension of a true community outreach and community action. What I don’t like is that our parking lot is usually full, my usual spot in the far corner of the lot, I need a reserved parking sign out there, I end up out there so often (the walk into the building, in the middle of winter is cathartic). Our classes (yes, I go) are teaming with people, active with people, enjoying the activity. Still you can find a private area, if needed for personal workout or personal exercise and growth. I’m old school Y, just a boys club. This new chapter in true community involvement at SpartanNash Y is refreshing and enjoyable. Next, if ask about what I would change, I would be certainly love to provide a list, the list would be much shorter and take much more thought. Still waiting for my first idea.
How friendly the staff is and so willing to help. They always greet you when you come in and leave.
It’s a excellent place to work out and the pool is incredibly nice
Friendly staff and great instructors! The facility has all the things that you could need for a varied workout and excellent group fitness classes.
location, friendly staff, lots of equipment available
Great instructiors
THoroughly enjoyed`my orientation. Staff very friendly and he3lpful.
I love the pool and hot tub. I do get frustrated when it’s closed.
Very warm and friendly staff.
I have been going to the YMCA ever since I was 10 years old. I went to YMCA camp on Barlow lake when I was 11 and 12. I missed a few years here and there, but there is no better place to be associated with and maybe Church is just ahead of the "Y"!
Oh my where do I begin, the staff is AMAZING, when I have questions about a fitness machine they are so readily to help me
Amenities and cleanliness
Only reason I go is Lynne Heney’sStretch Flex Balance on Fridays. She is amazing. A class for seniors thst isn’t wimpy and is t too difficult. My only issue—twice in the past month she’s been absent and there is no ‘sub’ listed on the app. If I knew I would probably go to another Y class at Hunting. REALLY find this inexcusable—and I always check the morning of the class.
I like the mornings when it's quiet and cool on these summer days.
The people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful

I like the fact that I am motivated by other geriatrics my age, who are dedicated to working out and maintaining their health.
