I really enjoy and look forward to my visits to the Y. Only problem I have is people sitting at weight machines looking at their PHONES!

I love the weight equipment. I tried working out at the MFB/Cascade location and hated the new machines. There's real satisfaction in moving the pin down a little lower or adding another plate to increase the amount of weight I'm lifting. At the Cascade location, I felt like I was being robbed of that very basic-yet-important element of my strength building journey. I also didn't like having to punch in a number and blindly trust that the machine is correctly calibrated to the correct resistence. I want to see the number of plates I'm able to move, and watch them going up and down under the power of my own muscle strength. It adds to the empowerment, growth and feeling of success I'm building as I work to get stronger.
In addition, I love the cleanness of the facility, and the safety of knowing that everyone there is held to a certain standard of respect and courtesy for those around them.
I also love that the YMCA gives back to the community. This is a very special place!

I like that it's close to my home it's not overly busy most of the time said I go which is lovely. I love the aqua cardio and the aqua arthritis class that you've got I think Tammy Allen is teaching those she's very good.
Friendly environment and like the walking track!
Second visit to SpartanNash - we were quite happy that the Pool water temp was nearly 2 degrees WARMER than what was written on the white board.
On this same thread of pool temperatures, we are disappointed that David Hunting branch is following the same path as Mary Freeze Bed Y (where the family pool temp hasn't been warm in over 3 years) and only taking the water temp once a day, in the morning. Often what is reported at these two family pools is 2-4 degrees warmer than the actual pool temp later in the day.
Back to SpartanNash, our only complaint was the mildew on the slimy shower curtain, we used the Family Room next to the handicapped room (pool side).
The pool and hot tub are perfect. I use both the pool and hot tub to ease joint pain. The temperature is perfect for this. I live closer to the downtown Y, but make the effort to go to Spartan just for this.
The walking track
We like the variety of weights and machines. Also, there are some good classes, such as Aqua aerobics and Flex, stretch and balance. We enjoy the pool, hot tub and sauna.
However, some of the music played is very inappropriate, which we find offensive.
The machines need to be maintained better. There are pads that have been ripped for weeks! They should be replace quickly.
Extended hours, clean, non judgmental
Friendly staff. I use the facility mostly on the weekends for the sauna. It is close to my home and I don't travel downtown where i usually go.
