Everyone is so welcoming! The gym is such an inclusive space and it's wonderful to see so many members of the community here.
Although the other ymca branches are nice I love this branch way better! The family pool is nice for my little to splash in the locker rooms are nice amd the kod zone is awesome! There is just one thing recently they stopped serving free coffee and they no longer have the Cafe which I loved. But other than thst david d. Hunting ymca is the only one I'll go to!

I heard through that parking lot may be going away in the spring to build a sports stadium. I was really sad to hear that! I’m a bit concerned about the parking situation once that happens. Hopefully it doesn’t cause to much of a mess. I may start going to the Mary Free Bed location if that happens.

The David D. Hunting Branch of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is a complete facility, in a great location, with helpful, trained Staff. In addition, the Community outreach and support by the Y regarding our youth programs, nutrition, and physical fitness are all unsurpassed in Kent County.
I am thankful for the new rowing machines!! Two things that I would love to see improved are the availability of free weights. Many mornings the weights I am looking for are not available. It would also be great to have better quality spin bikes available.
I love the staff, the amenities, and the convenience of a great gym down town.

The YMCA has changed my life. Since becoming a member one year ago, I have changed both mentally and physically, for the better! I look forward to working out every single day- it has become an essential part of my routine. Great variety of classes, and the instructors are pros, (and so fun and kind!). I've made new friends and learned new skills. In the best shape of my life at middle age :).
Fitness classes, cleanliness and wonderful friendly staff
I like the variety - weight machines, cardio equipment or the track & most of all, the Les Mills classes. I would love it if DDH was able to add a combat class to the morning schedule (before work).
Also I saw there is now drop-in pickleball. Any possibility of adding a class to learn how to play?
I like the group exercise classes. Especially the Total Body Strength during the week.

A nice big walking track with windows. The parking spaces are too narrow!
Has a huge variety of workout possibilities for all types of athletes. Pools, treadmills , indoor track, weights (free & machines), a large choice of classes as well as nice sized locker rooms.
Love the swimming pool area and staff very helpful.
This place is sweet
It’s a great gym with the high ceilings, love it. The staff is very friendly as well. Some machines could be replaced, but I’ve heard that’s happening.
Walkable from home, the open and airy feel. The large windows that provide natural light inside. Easy parking included with membership for days that are not walkable. The group class instructors are amazing. I've been to other YMCAs, outside of GR, and they are dark, small space facilities that are not an encouraging place to work out. Our downtown Y is an amazing, modern facility that makes you want to keep coming back!
