Member Testimonials
My favorite things are the workout classes and the pool/hot tub. I used to attend the Saturday morning body Balance class and am very disappointed that it has been cancelled. I would love to see it come back!
Friendly dedicated staff
The YMCA provides a sense of belonging to a healthy community.
I love going to the downtown Y. The staff and other members are very friendly. The place is clean. Love the instructors.
My only concern us what might happen with the parking.
Classes and staff are awesome. Instructors are very welcome and it's just overall a really friendly environment with the equipment I want and the indoor track is really nice too I love the city view.
Staff are very friendly and helpful! Facility is very clean and lifeguard do their job well . Also very kid friendly!!!!
Could use another handicap bathroom in the family bathrooms!
I have only been twice but so far so good. I joined to use the pool to get some extra activity in my life. I like the ease of being able to get right in the water to do laps.
A great opportunity for my daughter to do a team sport that is not offered at her school! The referrees were great and educational for the girls!
Great refs, fair pricing. Great facilities no matter where we’ve gone.
So nice you don’t charge an entrance fee for family. We went to courthouse and they charge $4/person. Seeing how other facilities run their pricing makes me more grateful for the Y. Thank you!
Everything! The classes are great and the atmosphere. My only request would be to try to add a Barre class to the schedule either in the evenings or on weekends!
The staff are so friendly. Everything is kept clean.
I love that the facilities are always clean, and I appreciate the wide offering of classes, equipment, and facilities offered at this Y. I do wish they had towels! I understand it's probably a cost savings and equipment efficiency, but I'm less apt to use the pool knowing I would have to transport a wet towel home.
It has a lot of things you can do there!!
Spin classes. Motivating instructors. Clean facility.
everything!
That it's a very inclusive environment with tons of programs!
the land classes and knowledgeable instructors.
I like how this YMCA has more of a variety then the Spartan Nash one by my house. I love using the steam room after my work out sessions. I also love how the steam rooms and saunas are separate from the men's.
I have talked to more people, and making new friends at this location and I'm starting to see them on a regular basis.
I definitely feel much more happier here.
LOVE their group fitness classes. So much fun, lots of good energy and of course a killer workout!!!
The staff is friendly, the building is clean, and the hours are great. Would like to see later weekend hours, but they are still good.
Staff is friendly and always listen to your concerns . Facility is always accessible and we had enough basketballs for our practice and games unlike other ymcas . Yiu have to bring your own ball which is not fair
From a friend
The scholarships that make it affordable for my family to enjoy the Y. As a single Mom the Y comes in handy to have somewhere positive for my boys to play basketball, work out, go swimming etc, etc, etc. I think the Y helps keeps them out of trouble!
The emphasis on sportsmanship and learning over just winning
Love the saunas & hot tubs!
Also all the natural light.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Childcare for the community!
I like the family locker rooms, the friendly instructors, and the awesome pool itself. My kids have really enjoyed their lessons.
It’s nice there, I highly recommend it!
💥 They Are Very Clean, Friendly & Professional!
* They Honestly Treat Every Customer complaint Like Its Important. The Staff And Administration Bend Over Backwards To Make The DDH YMCA A Place That You Feel Like Family!! “ Strong A” 💪🏾
Workers are overly nice and friendly which is very much appreciated when/if things go wrong. Most members are great as well.

I appreciate their inclusivity. A few years ago, I had a friend, a transwoman, who wanted to join but was afraid of rejection due to it being a Christian-associated organization. When I asked the representative at the front desk whether or not my friend would be able to join, she smiled and said, "Of course." This was a few years ago, so I hope this welcoming spirit is still alive and well, because it is the main reason I am proud to go to the Y and have remained a member for years.
