I like the pool and the swimming lessons that are held there.
Everyone is very welcoming. Classes are varied and allow me to select the best ones for me.
Love it
The Southwest Y is a perfect fit for me. The best combination of solo fitness equipment, a wide variety of classes, great staff and friendly community.
The times work well for my schedule and the instructors are awesome.
Excellent instructors and classes
Everything! I like the instructors and coaches. They are excellent. All the staff act professionally, know how to help and guide and are personable. I like the variety and times of the programs. I like the personal trainers and sessions too.
Group classes and the awesome instructors
Nice variety of programs for alleges and fitness levels.
The variety of equipment, classes, and exercise programs available.
The YMCA Staff are awesome!
Aqua aerobics with Teresa and Kelly. They are the best.
I like that there are a variety of activities for all ages. I had no idea before I joined the YMCA just all that's available. I personally only come for the eGym, and at 71 I'm now in the best shape I've ever been in my life.
I like fhe pool facility for my rehab. and Gym has most of the free weights. and different sections for strength training v/s aerobics exercises. I love stretch room where I can do streches without being in the middle or strength training equipments.
Excellent selection of weight machines. Courteous and friendly staff. Very convenient hours of operation.
I'm currently participating in the Diabetes Provention Program. We meet weekly to discuss good and exercise. I am also working out each morning using the circuit.
The staffs are friendly. The programs are interesting.
There are a variety of different classes and activities, available at different times. Also everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful.
I wanted to call out coach Natalie who taught the level 6 swim lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:20 p.m. She is an incredible teacher. She does such a great job of balancing positive and constructive feedback with the students. Her feedback is incredibly detailed but also she phrases it in a way that even young children can understand clearly. She has great rapport with the kids and I've been so impressed with how much all the students in the class have grown under her tutelage. I'm sure she'll do great at every level, but I can confidently say that anyone who experiences her instruction at level 6 will leave the course feeling more confident and having gained solid skills.
Good teachers.
Highly recommended.
liket the Y app to see what classes are available
Instructors are engaged and enthusiastic. Facilities are high quality and well maintained.

I’ve participated in the Les Mills Strength Training program since Jan 2025 and it’s improved my health and well being. The program has exceptional instructors like Shelley, Iwona, and Gini, and Sophia that have guided me to improve my form. The kids club team has been instrumental in helping my daughter (finally) enjoy getting dropped off instead of having a tantrum. My daughter, Lizzie, has also immensely benefited from swimming lessons with Ms Teresa. Lizzie progressed so much last year with her form with just a couple of months of consistent swim lessons. We will be back to the swimming lessons in the summer. Last, Tonya has such a wonderful and welcoming demeanor, she has helped my daughter and me feel so welcome at Southwest YMCA. Mayu’s yoga classes are awesome and now I’ve started to attend Autum’s pop pilates clas. Although it’s challenging it’s been very rewarding for my core.
For swimming lessons, the pool is clean, as is the locker rooms. There is a decent amount of swim lessons throughout the week and for the weekend (which is a priority for our family). Keep up the great work!
Very varied, very community focused. Do wish there was a little more choice in classes on specific days (thurs am) or that the min limits could be raised a little in some classes (ie barre) and add more chairs but overall happy. I've been to a couple of other Y's classes recently and they haven't been a patch on the south Wests classes or variety
kid/youth swim programs - both lessons and swim team
There are all types of activities for all ages. I can pick whatever is best for me.
The only thing that I wish you could offer is soccer or Basketball or tennis for age 5 in your summer camp!
I just go there to lift weights but it's always a very friendly welcoming vibe

Love the extended hours. Maybe close at 3pm instead of 1pm on holidays?
Big fan of Mayu and Heather's yoga classes. I'm only able to attend the 4:30 or later classes during the week.
Would appreciate a pilates class in the 4:30 or so slot during the week.
Not a fan of the makeover in the weight room. The multi gym is difficult for us smaller folks to use. The only multi gym I can now use is the one outside. And the multi gyms outside are too close together. It's tough to use some of the equipment when the other gym is being used.
And when the hot weather comes, it will be miserable to use that outside equipment. How about swapping the multi gym that was in the weight room with one of the new ones (and put one of the new ones outside).
