Friendliness
Not enough of the classes that I like/need but more than I can get elsewhere, and friendly people.
One of the best ones ive been too
I love M,W,F spin class classes that begin at 6:25. This allows me to get to work on time. Laree and Paula are wonderful.
The weight room and staff are also terrific.
Jen B. 5:30 Zumba class is my favorite in the Bay Area - and I tried many.
Terri Yamamoto's Pilates class is fabulous. Even after years of classes each class is unique.
And finally, I love the mission of the YMCA. I love the tolerance. I love the compassion.
Thank you.
We like the classes--especially body pump and sometimes cycling and yoga. Also we like the warm pool and the hot tub. We like to bring our grandkids in the pool ( they are babies a and toddler). I like that the Y is trying to help low income youth with support academically. I also like that the Y gives out scholarships so low income people can belong to the Y. We don't like the new coffee machine as much as the old system because now it involves a lot of waiting.
Love fran’s Pilates class
Love Sue's zumba class, the new coffee machine, the friendly folks at the desk, the people
who clean up, what a good group of folks.
The Y is s friendly place and the membership cost makes it reasonable to belong to. There are so many opportunities to find something that fits your needs.
Love the pool options - laps, warm water exercise and jacuzzi!
Wish you had more Pilates classes though.
Thanks
Childcare, access to pool, nice people
I love the Les Mills classes - especially BodyPump and CxWorks. I also like the swimming pool. I use it for lap swimming 3 times a week.
I basically use the Y as a gym. I use the wellness room; I don't usually use classes, or even the swimming pool very often.
I like the way the place feels friendly and inclusive. I like the nice facilities and good equipment. At the hour I come, usually it is not crowded.
The Ross Road facility also happens to be about a 20-minute bike ride from my house, which is just the right distance for getting in some aerobic exercise on the way to and from.
Nice pool, and responsible life guard
The amount of classes and activities you offer. Very skilled instructors
I just use the machines but haven't done any programs or organized activities.
Overall, the Y is great. My only "complaint": I do think the drains in the showers of the men's locker rooms need to be cleaned more often--often there are large clumps of hair in the drains.
The programs are catered to all age groups which is nice for the whole family.
Everyone is independent and engaged at the same tim when we enter The Y
The staff is mostly friendly and welcoming.
I love all of the different classes!
I like programs for all ages and abilities.
The 2 hour child care is my 18 month old daughter's favorite activity. We come 3x a week so that she can play and interact with other kids. The staff are amazing, friendly, and I can tell that they really care about the kids under their care. We especially like that you have a shaded outdoor area for her to run around to get the wiggles out, and do arts and crafts, and plenty of room to run around inside on rainy days with big windows for lots of light.
Good variety and I really love all of the Les Mills programs.
It is very friendly environment and good trainers.
Great facilities, lots to do, and very clean
Gym and swimming pool
Lots of group exercise choices. Friendly knowledgeable staff
Group exercise classes.
2 separate swimming pools for classes and lap swim. Hot tub.
Family friendly. There are activities for each family member to enjoy at the YMCA, including daycare so parents can workout and kids nights for parents to remain mentally healthy.
The gym. Really like the new circuit program.
Great instructors. Huge variety of classes and not just the popular ones. The classes I take are yoga, tone & stretch, balance, etc. Instructors are Katie, Jack, Lynda, Anne, Roya, Cheryl, Setsuko. All of them are wonderful instructors with compassionate caring personalities!
Friendly staff, always helpful & engaged with the programs & volunteers.
Clean restrooms.
❤ the new ping ping table! Thank you for the table & allowing us to set it up in the mind/body studio when not in use bumpy classes.
My only request, which I made before but nothing was done, is that there be some cardio classes without loud music. Loud music is not necessary for good exercising and accelerates hearing loss. I am sensitive to loud noises so there is no cardio class that works for me. I am not the only one; some of my friends have the same issue.
Also I think the yoga blocks need to be washed.
I have made a lot of good friends at the Y. It would be nice to enhance the social aspects. I work at home so the Y is where I go each day not just for exercise but for social interaction. I'm not sure what else you could do but some activities that bring people together would be nice. And not just people who already know each other, but activities that make it easy to meet others. Maybe joint activities with Mitchell Library & Community Center?

Variety of classes and a good teachers
