I'd gone to the Central Y, which is much closer to me, but they have moved the classes I went to to the indoor pool vs outdoor.

The group exercise classes are great!
Your group exercise program is one of the best anywhere... and we know because we visit gyms and other Ys when we're out of town :)
Specifically the variety of formats, the number/frequency of classes offered every day, the indoor + outdoor options, and the caliber of the instructors.
EC group exercise is squarely in the top 5% of all YMCAs and gyms we have visited around the world. Something to be very proud of!

Overall El Camino YMCA is a great gym for the whole families. We enjoyed the adult group fitness class like Ujam. We like the swimming pools which also offering family swim time. We participated a lot of youth sports programs like the basketball leagues.
If I have to say one thing that I'm not very satisfied, I would say it's the basketball coaches. Since the coaches are changing from time to time, the quality of the coaches varies. We like the YMCA coaches who taught last Fall session in 2021 and also those parents who volunteered as coaches in the winter session of 2021. They were very passionate and responsible, always arrived on time and started the classes on time. They focused on teaching basketball skills along with teamwork skills. They also balanced the team members very well in each games. It was a lot of fun to play games with different teams at that time.
Of course we still like the basketball program at El Camino YMCA and we will continue to register for new sessions.
I initially signed up with the Y following Cardio rehab following an Aortic Valve replacement. I wanted to continue with my exercise and the Y would be perfect. Most of the rehab program was working with treadmill, bicycle and stair master. The y has an abundance of this equipment and there is no waiting for a machine.
I decided to add some weight training to my routine. The EGym equipment is the best exercise for me. I don't have to remember what exercise I need to do or the weight I need to lift. The equipment takes the guesswork out of it. Just swipe on and start.

The Y has excellent instructors and staff, a nice variety of classes, and a large open wellness floor. I also appreciate the room dedicated to stretching, an underappreciated element of wellness.
