Very laid back atmosphere. I can come and do my exercise routine, exchange a friendly nod or word with other people who are also working out. For some reason, people seem to think the Y is some sort of second rate choice, but to me it's first class. I missed it during Covid and I miss it when I'm traveling. Always feels like coming back home. I never feel like I "have" to go to the gym. I feel like I want to go and that's due to the great staff and facility.
I don't take part in other programs because I'm happy with what I'm doing, but I certainly can see how joining a class would be beneficial for many people.

I already told all my y friends to check out the beautiful pool and the really great life guards working there . They’re so attentive and friendly.
It gives people with low income a chance to enjoy the amenities
The Y is a wonderful community with lots of social interaction. The programs and activities are great for emotional and physical health.
expanded pool hours are most welcome. I would also like to see the Y open more on weekends, when working families can access the Y. Many people in EPA work a lot mon-sat and Sunday is a day they can get to the Y.

The pool is a hidden gem! Also lifeguards were very friendly and helpful! We normally use Sequoia YMCA, but love having outdoor pool during the summer!
