I like the variety of programs available. One of the difficulty for seniors is that most if not all of the senior activities are scheduled in the morning and a dry exercise class often competes for your time with a water exercise class.

The pools are what we use, we love the fact we can get into warm water and exercise.
The silver sneakers program provides the kind of exercise I need as a senior citizen. In addition to the exercise, the fun and friendships are vital for motivating me to get out regularly. I like the way the staff is personally interested in each of us.
I like the ability to customize my routine to focus on the areas that need the extra work. Also, Barb Jones (Trainer) does an excellent job helping me through the process.
My family's relationship with our local Y (KY) goes back to our learning to swim as a pre-teens. When considering a facility for my Silver Sneakers membership, I was delighted to find out that the Y was an option. The Y's standards and long history made the Y a perfect choice. Despite being a non-profit organization, the Y has been there when such a facility is needed. I cannot say the same about for profit facilities. All too often such facilities are here today and gone tomorrow. .
