Love the energy, the encouragement and the non-shaming aspect. I'm middle aged and not trying to be a meat head. I feel like I get an intense, efficient and well rounded work out that's social, fun and always different.
They are well balanced and allow for both fat loss and muscle building.
Great team, knowable coaches.
I absolutely love working out at the OTF- FiDi location. The team is always inviting and willing to help. Coach Bethany is AMAZING and I love taking her class as she brings a vibrant energy and attitude to each session.
Coaches are amazing, staff is super friendly and the festive, positive vibe at the studio is really encouraging for everyone! Great job Orangetheory FiDi!
Not a great experience. I joined on Tuesday and started my 30-day notice period to quit on Thursday. While I loved the workout, the feel is... mindless corporate franchise. Better to end the relationship early.
The reason I quit today was that I was running a little late for the 7:10 class - only my second time doing this subway route at this time of day, and I left at the same time as Tuesday, but (trial and error) it took 10-15 minutes longer today. I called when I got off the train around 7:13 and said I was 2-3 minutes away. The desk attendant mentioned the 5-minute cut-off but acknowledged that it was my second class and said something along the lines of "do your best to get here quickly, we'll take care of you." Her gave the definite impression sense that if I raced to get there in the next few minutes, they'd let me into the class. So I did, walked in at 7:16 and he and the other attendant told me I couldn't go into the class. (Class was nowhere near full either.) In response to my respectfully expressed annoyance at the poor communication and the overall sequence of events, his colleague pointedly asked me if I wanted to use my one free class cancellation for this - this felt unnecessarily passive aggressive at worst and like a poor timing at best. That is when I decided to cancel.
Policies are policies, but timing, discretion and customer-relationship building are much, much more important. Anyone who has ever worked in a customer-oriented environment would have recognized that this was an appropriate time to set the policy aside with minimal downside to doing so. As a brand new member, eager and excited to get a workout routine going after months of working in a high-stress environment, it was a big disappointment to realize that a business that offers a good product but doesn't empower its employees to use their discretion (or fails to train them to do so effectively) is not going to be a fit for me.
I was also a little annoyed when, after I bought my package I found out that I had to buy the heart rate monitor, which is pricey. (In the drop-in class, they had loaned me one, so I did not realize that it wasn't included, and it was never mentioned.) Another example of a missed opportunity to be communication and customer-experience oriented.
Re the monitor, I have never used it - had only just opened the box as I walked in this morning - and (not surprising), the same front desk employee sheepishly told me he could not accept it as a return without his manager's approval.
How you can make it right: Accept the return of the unused arm band. Refund a portion of my first month's membership - I only took a single class and now I am back to the drawing board in looking for a group class that meets my needs. A gracious response to this unfortunate experience would keep my mind open in terms of reconsidering becoming an OT member in the future and would be the sort of resolution that would balance out the negative experience.
I love Orange Theory Fidi! The coaches and classes are challenging and you actually see results. Not to mention the community of people behind it really are motivating. Couldn't recommend enough!
Things I like:
- Staff and management pleasantness
- Studio cleanliness and equipment function
- Trainer expertise and attitude
- Effective workouts
- Community building
A really well rounded workout that focuses on keeping your cardiovascular health up while also maintaining strength
I like the structure and pace of the workout. The coaches are supportive as well.
It is a fabulous program, gym is always clean and instructors are always on point!
I love how genuine everyone is from the front desk to inside the class. It’s a great community of people I would actually hang out with outside of class as well. As for the workout itself, the coach really takes the time to get to know you and in class knows exactly how to push you so you’re achieving your best every time. Don’t have enough good things to say about this studio!
I love the people there
It's a fun and supportive group environment with the right level of competition against yourself, not against others.
Trainers are great which makes you feel like you're going to see friends each class!
Plus, the orange lights in the studio are great!
All of the coaches at this studio are top notch, each with their different style, but always fun and engaging. The front desk staff are all friendly, encouraging and seem to know the members who attend here and this makes a difference. I appreciate very much that their equipment is new, the studio is spacious, locker areas are clean and most importantly I never struggle to book a class here whether in advance or last minute. I especially love that they have towels here--this truly is a great perk. Many studios that I have been to do not, and I belong to this location because I feel that I truly get a good value for the elite membership monthly cost, as it is managed very well. I recently made it to 100 classes, and the staff were supportive, and even posted it on their IG page.
The coaches and the 45 lift class
Quick, brainless and fun.
Since joining, I’ve felt like I’ve gained the support of not just my coach but an entire community. I love the energy of Bethany and the entire team!
- Orange theory is not really for all levels. It is definitely not for beginners and I wish it was more clear. I see a lot of people with terrible form and the coaches can only do so much during a session. I would recommend having a few beginner sessions that are slower and go through form.
- Crunches and Sit ups are extremely outdated but I still see various versions of them sprinkled in every so often.
- Not all coaches provide alternatives for exercises.
- The gym is very crowded, could be good to reduce by 1 or 2 stations.
I love that it's always a challenge and the coaches motivate you to be your best and reach your fitness goals!
Mix of cardio and floor is great! Maybe I would throw in some specific sessions on mobility!
The workout is as well rounded as any that you can have for an hour, with a good balance between cardio and resistance. The coaches are friendly but will push you to challenge and better yourself. The staff is friendly and helpful and I love the community - these are now friends inside and outside of class!
Challenges
Training for challenges
Alt-rock pop and taylor swift remixes.
It is always different and always challenging
love everyone there.
Hi, I would like to change my score to 10. There is a lock symbol on the form that wont allow me to update the score.
Supportive coaches, great music and options
It would be really awesome if there could somehow be incorporated more pilates-like movements in the floor section work of the classes. Also would be really nice to dedicate more time to stretching, specifically the calves since we run so much in class.
Shoutout to head coach Bethany for going above and beyond to elevate members’ experiences!
