You can pick and choose what you want, what day and time. Hours are great.
Great!
A great variety. Friendly staff.
Excellent classes with excellent teachers you offer far more than the Punta Gorda YMCA my one negative comment is that if you’re trying to use the machines, there’s never anybody around to help you learn how to use them
1.) Kelly, Fitness Director continues to be a major asset and addition to the YMCA. I have >50 years of experience of dealing with the public and she possesses what it takes to make the needed improvements in PR, staff and the facility, along with promoting the YMCA.
2.) Several of the hand sanitizer (wall mounted) units have been empty for over a month! We are in flu season and need to control the spread of the viruses as much as possible.
3.) MANY MEMBERS USE THE EXERCISE MACHINES AS THEIR PERSONAL "PARK BENCHES", MANY OF WHICH ARE SEWED TO THEIR CELL PHONES!!! Even when asked nicely, many continue to sit, listen, read, text, whatever. Many get insulted when asked to finish up after an inordinate amount of time. "Working In" is a term and thing of the past, prior to cell phones. Members have become oblivious and self-centered. They seem entitled. I clocked one recently on the chest machine at 26 minutes!!! You MUST find a way to get them OFF the machines in < 5 minutes, without discourse. Your new "softened" look Rules Sign, does not do the trick, not that the older one did.
4.) Promote 4 Wall HANDBALL (not racquetball). Handball is far superior to any other racquet type sports, especially pickleball; not even close skill-wise. I posted phone numbers on the sign board outside the handball courts for 6 years now and never gotten a single call. Why not publicize Handball in your newsletter, at least? It is sad that I need to drive 45 min. to play in Sarasota, when you have two fine handball courts on site.
5.) The PR of the staff is improving, especially with the new hires. You still have a few "stiffs" remaining in the P.T. arena, that find it hard to say hello to members working out in the gym.
6.) Bring back towels (at least the small ones you had, pre-Covid). Covid is OVER!.
7.) Fix 2-6 above and you will have a 10/10.
Thank you.

We find that the staff is more than helpful. With the new machines I find it a little difficult to figure out the machines. But help is always nearby.

Y develops community. Familiar faces become acquaintances become friends. It's fun and healthy and educational.
great programs and activities and excellent instructors
Love the Spin classes.
Too bad you took out the machines I liked.
I think my trainer Lucia deserves a raise. She is the most patient person I know. If it wasn’t for her I would have never come back.
I like flexible schedules
The people that work there. All gyms have the same equipment but the employees make the Y home!
