What is going on?

The variety and partnerships
The early morning water classes.
On the plus side:
The lap pool is well-maintained, kept somewhat warm for us older swimmers, and the lifeguards are well-trained and seem to take their job seriously.
The free weight area (recently renovated) is spacious, well-equipped and diverse. Even with a fair number of people present it is usually possible to get your workout in.
Minuses:
Cleanliness. The men's locker room often smells. Sanitary wipes are frequently simply dropped on the workout floor. Dust bunnies can be found in abundance.
Weight Room Etiquette:
Members can be observed at any time of day parked on machines and staring at their phones, oblivious to those around them who may wish to use that machine.
Weight plates are often simply left on the bars for the next person to re-rack, frequently by young, strong males who are unaware that the next person to use that position may not be strong enough to remove them. That or they're carted off to some other location, used for some purpose, and then simply left there.
Posting a sign will not help. The YMCA is a public place and rules concerning proper use and basic courtesy to others need to be made clear to members and frequently reinforced.
The Y in southwest florida has everything i need to stay healthy and engaged!
