I am 65+ and transferred from Lakewood Ranch about 6 years ago. I take spin class 6-7 times a week. I am a full time resident. Lakewood Ranch had a very good spin program. Venice is better.
The current spin team at Venice is the best. All excellent instructors. Each instructor brings their own expertise.

The group exercise classes are my favorite. Cynthia is the best for Pilates and probably any other class. Some instructors while good are very boring in thier routines.
I enjoy the group fitness classes. I do wish that more intense workouts were offered over the weekend, but I can usually make the ones at 530 during the week. Everyone is very nice.
Class instructors are amazing!
I like the variety of classes offered and that there are multi-generations milling around at all times of day and evening.
Most of them are very highly regarded. Great instructors.
Body Pump has given me so much strength.The instructors, Janet and Lara are amazing. I have met many people and more importantly many great friends, which I’ve had for years now. The Y is a true community.
I enjoy several pool classes each week. Joyce and Noah are both really great instructors. Also, attend Chair Yoga classes. Jim is a good instructor and when he is out of town Annisa usually is the person that teaches. She does a really good job.
The front desk staff is always eager to help and answer questions. The "Y" has a way of encouraging and making you feel welcome.

Energetic water program!
Good trainers and a variety of programs.
There are 2 things I’d like to see.
1. Morning classes like Sit and Fit. Love the class but afternoon sessions aren’t convenient.
2. The floors in the classrooms could be corned more often.

Indoor pickleball is nice . . . there should be some way to put up some dark covers on the glass wall to improve ball visibility (only while playing).
I would ask the directors to consider a rule prohibiting use of cell phone while on weight machines. people use the weights, then just sit there looking at their phones while occupying the machine. No! get off the machine.

pool temp could be cooler. It seems to be stuck at 86-87 degrees. A bit too warm for exercise swimming. While I would like it around 78-80, I understand some folks who just "hang out" in the pool might find that temp a bit too cold, but I could compromise. . .maybe drop the daily temp to 83-85.
