Does not compare with other well known work out places. I’d rather stay at the Y but the equipment needs to be replaced and updated.
The aquatic staff are skilled and friendly. Water fitness classes are fun and give a great workout. Would like to see a class on Friday mornings at the South Oakland YMCA.
The instructor was amazing. She was very detailed and welcoming. Even at times when it might of been difficult for me to do some of the exercises she still was encouraging and very helpful. I didn't feel left out and I actually gained confidence in the workouts. Definitely would recommend!!!

It's a friendly way to keep fit
We had preschool lessons with Chance. He helped my son to be significantly more comfortable in the water by challenging him just the right amount! Chance was encouraging and gave great feedback and made everything fun.
Cleanliness and friendliness
I LOVE my Sunday stretch class!!! I also enjoy he 7 am yoga class but unfortunately, my work schedule doesn’t allow me to go as often as I’d like to.
The Y meets you at your fitness level. Then, you seek to improve that level through repeated workouts and adding ideas (weights, repetitions, etc). You are encouraged and empowered.
Kayanne is gorgeous 😍. She is always there to help me out whenever I have a problem or situation. Her personality is happy and it makes my day.
The exercise program is one that I can keep up with and there is an area for walking, lifting weights and machines to work all parts of your body .Everyone is friendly and there is coffee, free! It is a great place to interact with everyone, your age, younger or older.

I attend body pump and zumba at the Y.
I started exercising for my mental health, and it is astoundingly helpful. Focusing on movement keeps me from chewing over negative thoughts. By the end of a class whatever was bothering me feels smaller, and I feel confident enough to handle it. Or I'm exhausted and don't have the energy to worry.
I have made great friends at the y. All ages and types of people are there. The people are kind and encouraging.
I have never regretted attending a class. I always feel great after.
