I've been a member of the YMCA on and off since I was a kid. the Salem Y especially is a center for community activity and is especially down to earth when Ys in the other areas can seem more like snobbish fancy health clubs....the Salem Y maintains it's integrity for serving all people.

My child gets individualized attention. She comes home raving about the activities - from coloring to quiz games - and it’s such a safe place for her to be.

There is truly something for everyone here! I was delighted to find the cold plunge had been added. As soon as I find a bathing suit, I’m going to take the plunge!
The after school activities are well balanced, active and educational. The mix of art and sports activities offers something for all kids to enjoy.
The staff is attentive and supportive, fun and engaging. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time at the Y.

I dont use the gym that much anymore although I used to. I love the mat pilates classes. I wish there were more classes offered to accommodate a typical work schedule at the salem location. If there was a 6am or 630am pilates class, I would be there daily. Its the main reason more of my friends dont join, due to the lack of pre-work classes.
Love the teachers. We have Ollie and Julia now, but have had others and they are all great. They work well with my daughter who doesn’t always listen but LOVES swim class and is always so excited to go.
We love Ms. Julia and Ms. Emily! They are excellent teachers- great mix of patience, energy, expertise!
I like how they go to the playground and run around alot. There are also alternative activities if my son doesn't want to go to the playground.
