The Y is an affordable way to get and stay active, and is also a source of community-building and doing good for Cape Ann. I appreciate that I can either exercise on my own or sign up for a group class to help motivate me. Everyone on the staff at the Y that I've encountered so far has been kind and helpful, and it's such a beautiful facility to have so close to home. I grew up having birthday parties at the old Y by the Gloucester Library and being able to come to the shiny new Y as an adult has really been a wonderful experience for me.

It's clean,open & bright. Plenty of cardio machines.

At the Y in Gloucester, the people who work there are great. It is always busy, but I never have to wait for a cardio machine. Everything is clean. There are a lot of classes. As a former Water Safety Instructor, I appreciate the professionalism of the pool area. Parking is easy in the large lot.

As Celia showed us around the Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA, we felt welcome. I was delighted to see so many families, especially teens, obviously engaged in activities.

Great classes. The only concern I have is that it is very crowded all over all times of the day, the machines, the pool, the upstairs turf and the classes.

I’ve celebrated my one year anniversary at the Y and I have found a community there. The instructors are top notch and I have built a solid workout commitment and I leave feeling happy every time I finish a class.
Instructors, Erika, Vanessa and Jasmine are at the core of why I enjoy it so much.
I do have a suggestion, the front desk greeting as you enter is so important… having someone smile and acknowledge you, makes me feel so welcome and it sets the tone for my experience for the day. So making that a part of your staff training is key. Thank you for being here for us!
