Front desk is friendly. Instructors are great. I play pickleball, take classes and am planning on swimming. My senior membership is $52 a month. You can’t beat that!!!

Clean, vibrant atmosphere. Constant upgrades to the facility and very friendly staff. A real benefit to the community.
A wide variety of Yoga, Tai Chi and Meditation classes between the different North Shore Y locations.
The Beverly Y has so much to offer between classes and (my favorite Yoga with Dante) workout machines and a beautiful pool with aerobic classes. They also offer the very popular Pickleball. Something for everyone!

I very much appreciate the efforts of Inclusion Fitness with Amelia C. We have two adult children in the autism spectrum, and in previous years we felt there was no place for them at the Y, though we both love various features (yoga, Zumba, cardio & weight machines, mostly). Amelia's class has been great, and she is unphased by the occasional quirky behavior of our girl. I have actually reached out to friends from an autism group about this class, but they felt they were too distant geographically to take advantage of it.

The coaches are all wonderful and know how to motivate the individual athletes and also support them and their strengths. There is a true sense of community with North Shore Elite for both the parents and the athletes.
The staff are great at North Beverly my daughter feels very comfortable and is coming out of her shyness. I have already recommended my family to the program

So many reasons, but today I’d like to acknowledge April DeVries. I have always enjoyed yoga and have had many teachers at various local studios over the years, but April is far and away the best instructor I’ve had. She is so friendly and makes you feel comfortable right away, lets you know she’s happy you made it to the mat. Sometimes as a busy mom, just getting to the mat is the hardest part, and April always makes me feel understood and glad I came.
April’s Power Yoga class is fantastic! It’s fast-paced and I always work up a sweat, but April is inclusive of all levels. She offers modifications and add-ons, always reminding us to do what feels right for our own bodies, whatever that looks like. She makes me feel like I belong there, even without being able to do all the moves. But the moves are great! I feel so stretched and strong and open when I leave April’s class, and I can feel myself getting stronger, carrying myself with better posture, noticing my interior muscles. I really like how April explains why we are moving a certain way, or how to use our muscles to get the most out of the movement. I have learned a lot about my own body! And I love seeing myself improve the more I practice.
Lastly I want to mention that besides being a fabulous yoga teacher, April goes above and beyond to make the Y feel like a real community. She organizes walks after class, promotes our kids’ school fundraisers, remembers and asks about our stories from weeks past. It’s that kind of personal touch that makes people feel at home at the Y. I think April should have her own yoga studio tbh, but I am so thankful that we’ve got her here in our Y family!
