So I have been a member of the YMCA since I was a child. As I have moved around, any town that had a Y I have always defaulted to being a YMCA family member. I've enjoyed everything offered at our West Lake YMCA. I was fortunate enough to move to Kingwood after the hurricane and I'm enjoying the new building. I do enjoy everything here- the building itself, the weight machines, pool, gym/classes available, and the staff members friendliness. The high school community had a heavy presence in the evenings. I will say that is a minor deterrent just due to them taking over so many machines and the larger groups that can build up in an area. Last month, I went to the Charleston, WV, YMCA. They offered a $5 token program for towels. It would be a recommendation at the cost of the members to integrate a pool/shower towel program if able. I've seen other Y's with dress code signs also to help control the "nakedness" of the members. Not that it is needed for us, but I thought it was a cool & friendly way to remind folks to no show off everything they have.
