Friendly staff.
Variety of classes. I like HIIT, Cardio Strength Intervals, Kickboxing classes, Body Attack is one of my favorites.
Please offer childcare for grade school kids. We homeschool our children and this would be a great option during the day time as activity.
Hot tub and hot sauna
The staff is always able to assist families when they are short staff on Coaches that sign up but then are not available on games or practices. Eric and Mr. Pearson have a very positive attitude and also the college students who often volunteer.
Variety of instructors for SilverSneakers and ability to use machines in gym because of availability. Staff is very kind, informative and patient!
The Hours of service is center around the members. There’s activities available for every member in the family.

I like the pool and the fact that there is usually an open lane when I want to swim. Except when there are unscheduled swim team practices.
What I love and appreciate most is the pool area of the Duncan YMCA. It has the largest WARM pool of all the Houston YMCAs (not the heated pools, which can still be quite cold), an almost olympic size lap pool (water on this one is cold) and a mixed sauna, which I haven't seen at any other Houston YMCA either. This Y isn't the closest to my home, but because of the great pool area I sometimes go out of my way to come here. I don't often use the gym, but it is a decent size one and the equipment was recently updated.
On the negative side, the facilities are rather old and the men's bathroom has an old, big box TV that you can barley watch or hear. It's time to buy a decent LED flat screen, which really calls for a very small investment! The YMCA does make a point of keeping the facilities clean and in nice condition.
I love the counter staff are very kind we me and my son......we enjoyed the hours that we spend there,in the pool and working out!!!

Updated equipment ands friendly staff
There are many activities and programs to take advantage of. The weight room has the most modern equipment available, including aerobic equipment. I specifically enjoy weight training and lap swimming.

The group exercise classes, especially Body Attack and Body Pump, are excellent.
The swimming pool! It is clean and well monitored by lifeguards.
I have access to a sauna. It is close to my job. You have a lot of workout equipment and an indoor pool.
