Friendly and clean nice staff
I have severe arthritis and the hot tub is the only relief that i get from the pain. I wish I lived closer and could go everyday.
Literally, something for everyone. While to this point we've concentrated with the water related classes, we look forward to expanding our efforts to the gym area. The instructors are very friendly, helpful, keep things moving and fun.
Since we're not originally from Houston, we don't have much of a base of friends. The Y has almost become a surrogate family reunion and we are thankful for the staff, the members and the structure the Y offers

I don't really participate in any programs and activities. From time to time I will take a body pump class during my lunch hour but have stayed away because it gets really crowded. I use the weight room and treadmills and like the machines offered.
the people
Seniorcise and Silver Sneakers
I appreciate that the "Y" has machines that are OK for someone of my age and ability . I am 88. I also like having a trainer available to show me the proper way to use the newer equipment.
Trainers are very helpful espeically for the senoirr citizens. Facilities well maintained.
The AOA programs are wonderful, especially Silver Sneakers & Birthday Bash.
There are so many various classes representing cardio, weight bearing, yoga, balance,
swimming, personal training, silver sneaker which was a combination, of all skills for older adults where you can set or stand. There is also a circuit board where you work all you different muscles. They also have a birthday lunch, (celebrating those having a birthdays that month). Bingo is another favorite. Their are so many different classes where you choose what you would like. Forgot the have a trip several times a year. The "Y" has a bus taking and bring the people back the same day. Come and seen all the activities you can attend when you are a part of the "Y".
Everything!!

I Like everything about programs and activities
The group exercise classes
The 3 pools: rec, lap, and hot tub.
I like the Silver Sneakers program and the instructors especially Annalea and Janie. I enjoy the AOA activities and really enjoy our coloring sessions. I have joined the crafting group that makes crafts for the birthday bash held each month. Bingo can be fun. I like that we can get a cup of coffee after Silver Sneakers and visit with each other. Not only is exercise important to me but the social time with others is just as important. I call the people at the Y my Y friends. The Y has given me a place to be with others since I have retired from my career. It has been wonderful to exercise and socialize at the Y.
The warm pool. AOA luncheons.

I have distributed numerous the flyers already, regarding YMCA's helping hand for those who were affected by the explosion!
I am so glad you have the volunteer led water ( aerobics?) exercise classes in the mornings. I attend both the 630 and the 730a.m. classes. It is the best time to insure we can move the rest of the day; the best time to be able to have the rest of your day to do other business; and its the best time to check in on each other … in our extended family of sorts !
The Silver Sneakers classes held on Monday & Friday are my favorites. Although ALL of them DO help us keep & ENJOY moving more easily!
I appreciate the COFFEE, the lobby, the comradery involved & encouraged there.
I have been remiss due to some " life issues" about not getting into the weights yet, but 1 day at a time! :)
It’s very well organized and I love the spirit and energy of the duncan y as a whole!
The classes and the staff
