I appreciate the fact that the New Albany Y participates in the Silver Sneakers program offered by many supplemental insurers to Medicare. Having visited several other Y’s in the Louisville metro area, it’s my perception that the Floyd County Y is the nicest facility in the area. I really appreciate using the therapy pool after a workout and the steam room and saunas are nice features, too. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know many of the staff and members and find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The New Albany Y is a wonderful community asset.

This YMCA is the best! The employees are so nice and helpful! The place is so clean! There is such a variety of classes and equipment; something for everyone! I am so thankful for the warm water arthritis and low impact classes! My instructors are Jill and Margaret They are the best! Julie at the front desk is so very nice and helpful! I start my day at the YMCA!

I love the mix of people and offerings at our Y.
I wish Y staff were more monitoring of the weight machine area. There are several people who “hold” up to 4 machines by placing items on them to prevent them from being used during their circuit, even though they do several reps on other machines. During the busy hours and increased use in January, this has been frustrating.

The Y is a cheerful, friendly place. Always clean, well-staffed, and I love to take the various classes. Right now I am enjoying Tai Chi and Line Dancing. Would love to see classes in Silver Sneakers, Gentle Yoga, Stretching and Balance, offered during the mid-morning to mid-afternoon time slots.
I love the classes. Chair yoga with Jenny is my favorite!! I also like my strength training routine & there is always someone working nearby if I need help with a machine.

I can’t name just one part about the YMCA that I like best. I enjoy working out with equipment, joining a couple of classes, having a social event where I can meet some new people and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere the staff provides. It’s my ‘feel good’ place to be.
