Instructors stay on target with the skills they are working toward, they push the children to be strong swimmers, pool safety is consistently discussed, and lifeguards are so friendly as well as on top of keeping all swimmers safe. In addition to the wonderful lessons, one instructor, Abbey, went above and beyond to get my boys confidence to go down the giant water slide and encouraged them long after the session was over. We have pleasant experiences every time we visit the New Albany, Floyd County YMCA to swim.

We have been going to the Y for several years and we don't have anything negative about it.
If we see something, we say something and is taking care off. The people that work there are very Friendly, and the people that go there are also friendly. So every time that me and wife leave we come out happy. We also like the different activities that they have through the year, for different ages, and also the trips to go to different games or dinner or lunch. Susan was great on it...
We love the way the gym is set up on different floors and the indoor walking track. We also love that we have a choice between the sauna and steam room. So grateful you offer both.

Love this place. Staff is always friendly and they have everything you need from a gym, pool, and rec center. Great place to beat the heat during the sweltering summer months!

Small class size and Jennifer our swim instructor was totally awesome and very attentive to all the students.
Jen and Abbey were amazing! Both are so knowledgeable and patient with my boys. Abbey was so helpful with my 4 year old who was a complete challenge (to say the least). I could not ask for more from a swim instructor. My older sons swim skills improved dramatically with Jen.
The Floyd County YMCA is very luck to have both ladies.
My daughters swim instructor was fabulous. She was very engaging and supportive with the class and encouraged all the kids to try. She was able to address the fears some of the kids had, reassuring them and helping them to overcome the anxiety they felt.
