The friendliness, the cross-cultural membership, the cleanliness, the cheerful greetings, the quality instructors. Just about everything. Just wish there was a backdoor entrance on just FSU’s when I have to park in back.

FINALLY, the pool temperatures are consistent. I like the (free) cooking classes - excellent program. And, I wish there would be beginning yoga classes at 8a!

Swim, Tuesday morning spin, and Wednesday/Friday basketball are great.
I have worked out at other facilities and Tandy by far is the best. All the staff is very friendly and accommodating, they make it fun to be there. I work with a personal trainer who is phenomenal, she challenges me while keeping it safe and making it fun.
If you're looking for a gym that provides a welcoming atmosphere and a variety of classes, then check out Tandy Family YMCA. I really enjoy attending the Y because there is a class for any type of fitness level that I want to attend on any given day. I get to plan out my schedule for the week, mix and match classes, and even try different classes at different YMCA branches. My favorite classes are deep water tabata, boot camp, pilates, cycling, and yoga!
I came to the Tandy Family YMCA Healthy Living Center with blinders on, focusing on one one thing and one thing only: my Parkinson's Disease and a bicycle spin class specifically designed to help alleviate my symptoms. It took a few weeks to realize just what I had fallen into - and not because I was smart or knew what I was doing.
Looking back, it was the programs, offerings, the values, the fun, the excitement, the safety, the members, the employees, the trainers, volunteers, the staff, my new friends...all of them seemed to open up before me like an immensely, complex, beautiful, and loving Rose.
The Tandy YMCA is like that, a many layered Rose (or any flower you choose) with each part, each layer, having a distinct, happy, purposeful, and caring job: to show you how to and help you be whatever it is you want to be.
The name even tells you: inside the doors you are Family, learn how to get and stay Healthy, where Living is a state of mind, body, and soul, and it can be one of your Centers for everything good.
Maybe it was luck that got me here, but it isn't luck that keeps me coming back. It is all I have mentioned above. It's hard and fun work at the Tandy Family YMCA Healthy Living Center. Luck? Yes, yes - I'm learning how to make my own.

So many different things to try. So much good encouragement from instructors. Beautiful facility.

I weight train, use the rowing machine and bikes, and attend water aerobics. The place is clean and everyone is friendly.
The different days, times and locations of your classes & activity you can choose from to fit into your personal/work schedule.

I swim in the mornings. The people are great and the pool is too, though the temperature consistency is not batting a thousand yet. It is way better than it used to be in both the lap and leisure pool. Kudos on that!

I love the pool and I forgot my towel and I was able to borrow one.
I enjoy working out. I only started 4 months ago and it has been a pleasure. I workout 3 times a week and will continue to do so.
