IT'S REALLY GOOD PLACE FOR FAMILIES TO GO
Summer camp and fitness classes oh and swim/water options 🙂
We love the pool, haven't had a chance to really check alot of the other things out there, but we plan on doing them this year.
My son Maxim is loving his swim lessons at the Y.
YMCA is the best place for me and my family to get exercise.
E machines
I like the flexibility
The family inclusion and variety of activities to do
All I have tried is Yoga classes, but they are great. I’m going to have to take a tour at some point.
Great instructors and group classes.
The Tandy Y is conveniently located, clean, and has good equipment which is well maintained.
Swimming Lessons and Great Pool Options
The only area of improvement is to make sure the lifeguards are alert during swimming lessons. When our daughter was taking lessons, a kid fell in the pool and the lifeguard was goofing off and did nothing to help the kid that fell in the pool. My husband thinks the lifeguard was fired later that night.
All of equipment for excesses & swimming & bicycle & arobic .
Love the water aerobics classes. Best way to exercise in the 100+ degree weather!
I've been going mostly to swim in the pool but have used various resistance and elliptical training equipment as well.
I've observed there are lots of activities in the pool area too, the water aerobics for the little old ladies, and all kinds of activities for the little kids as well. While I don't use these services, it is nice to know they are available.
I have this observation to share which I hope will be taken appropriately; I have noticed the lifeguards, the very young ones, have a tendency to bunch up and have a gab fest, sometimes three of them at a time, with their backs turned to the pool. Last week there was an elderly gentleman who seemed to be having some issues in the water, he was holding on to the edge of the pool for quite a time, I asked him if he were okay, and he said he was pretty tired. He ended up getting out, but it concerned me that none of the three child-lifeguards had noticed him.
Swimming 3 miles a week in the pool!
I stopped going to the Y late last year because of a severe sinus infection. Once I got better, we went on a trip and then we bought a new house and moved! All of these activities and others made me not want to start in again at the Y. I finally emailed Aubrey Ringleb who had moved from the Tandy Y to Dickenson but she still responded promptly and set me up with a new trainer, Jonathan, who is getting me started back on the egym and cybex equipment. As I suspected, all I am needing is someone to get me back in the routine and make sure my form on all the machines is good. This weight work is what I need to round out my walking and other activities. Jonathan is exactly the type of trainer I need at this time and Aubrey did a great job by setting me up quickly with him. I am very glad that you have recognized her as an outstanding employee by promoting her to Exec Director at Dickenson!
Inclusive
I like it all so far, all the facilities and class offerings are varied and very good with hours that will appeal to almost any schedule. The facility is very clean and seems most any need is being met at this facility. My only wish is that there were a real walking track.
Patty
You have several, and they are different, good ones and available for my workout. Also, you have good front desk staff. Nice to be treated well when you walk-in, and it's nice to have someone act like they honestly want to help you.
It is a lovely facility. The life guards were very helpful
I enjoy the variety of classes. Would love to see Brian's Sunday yoga class return or something very similar. It was a very popular class and an excellent way to close out the week (or start the week).
Good people and clean gym. Lots of equipment
Yoga is great.
Liz Lord is the best instructor.
Clean areas and most employees adhere to the mission integrity
Times of availability, opportunities for child care, and overall diversity of activities.
Aqua Zumba with Brittany is so much fun! EGym makes doing weights easy.
I love the EGYM and the sports programs for kids. They play n learn is wonderful.
Family swim
I love Tandy's play and learn. The youth workers play with the kids and teach them soft skills to get along with other kids. I observed staff teaching my son how to share and play with other kids. Loved this!
