Senior classes & yoga
Friendly!
I do water aerobics classes and find the instructors excellent. The locker rooms are well kept and well equipped. I have been to other YMCAs in Chattanooga and this one is the easiest to use. One has horrible locker rooms, one has parking issues and one is further than I want to drive on a daily basis. I love my Y.
Great class options
I go to the weight room almost daily and am a big fan of the elliptical machines.
The gym is well equipped and usually not overly busy in the afternoons
Fun classes that meet older people what they need
Wide variety of classes. Wide variety of ages and races, too. Lots of treadmills.
Family atmosphere, encouragement from other members, friendships to last a lifetime.
I love the variety of choices and times. COVID really took away a lot of this but Ashley Johnson and her team truly listened to us and brought back the classes to meet our schedule(s). This means the world to me, to us. The deep friendships I have made at Nina, Brandy, Christina, Jorge, Ashley, Dina, Sandra and all of the wonderful staff you’ve chosen, will be lifelong friendships. The accountability of a 430/5am text is amazing. The YMCA changed my life. I was 300lbs+ and diabetic. I am 230 (I’ve been as low as 207) and non-diabetic without medication, thanks to the Cleveland Family YMCA and Jesus. Thank you, for giving to the Lord! I am a life, that was changed. Name removed
I love all the group classes, the location!, and the staff. I wish there were more 6-8 am courses though and more yoga.
My favorite class is body pump with Allie, Shannon and First name removed as fitness coaches
I love my range of motion aqua and the teacher Jeanie makes the class fun.

There so many programs that senior citizens can participate in which give them hope to go more and more each day. Great planning.
The child watch and group exercise classes, especially kickboxing and circuit!

Yoga classes. I’m going to try tai chi soon. Instructors are friendly and kind. Times are convenient. Staff is helpful and friendly.
I like the consistent classes in a variety of activities. I feel like I can try new things and also have a predictable schedule.
Ample free parking. Availability of machines without wait time.
I like the convenience of the locations, the pool for lap swimming, the treadmills & weights, and the sauna.
