The friendliness, cleanliness, and variety of classes. Access to trainers and programs for children. I have seen a big improvement in my mobility and weight.
All the kids amenities. Classes and POOL!
Nice facility, the check in ladies are friendly, Iyesha (in Stay and Play) is amazing and my kids can't wait to see her every time we go!
My family and I just joined over Memorial day weekend of this year and we have really enjoyed the facility. We have been utilizing the gym and have come to find the resources that have been made available to us are really nice. I know personally speaking my only issue is that when I log into my ActivTrax to see my workouts, I am unable to see the workout videos because I believe everyone is using the free WiFi provided. That has been a bit frustrating I must admit because I have started a new workout regimen and I need to utilize the videos to make sure I am doing the exercises correctly. And those have been a huge help to me in the past. I am not sure if the Y is looking into getting a larger bandwidth or not but that might be something to consider.
One other thing to mention. I typically go for my workouts in the evenings during the week and I have found that the team members are very nice but are socializing a bit too much with each other and in front of the members/guest. I know there is always a time and place but that seems to be the norm from what I have seen so far. There isn't always a team member working at the desk in the gym area and I think that would be helpful for members/guest who tend to have a question about the equipment. It would be my suggestion to have one less team member up front and one always at or around that gym desk area.
I hope my feedback has been helpful. Honesty is the best policy.
Thanks~
My 4year old daughter loved her swim instructor Mr. Bill.
I love the cleanliness of the gym. So safe and comfortable, too. The staff is super friendly. It is my home away from home!
The Pasadena facility is really great. Clean and staff super helpful! Loved the Zumba class with Laurie O.
The gym is very vibrant, has great equipment and motivates a person to exercise.
Matt Lewis (Pasadena Y Executive Director) is awesome! He is very respectful, conscientious and welcoming to the local disability community, which is greatly appreciated by me and many others.
facilities are well maintained, and the equipment/pools/rooms are well managed
convenient location, positive attitudes, reasonable cost, etc.
suggestion: bring back the 2018 tricep machine. the new one is awful!
Nice facility would like to know more about getting a child able to pass the swim test
The amount of classes, the amount of machines and the sauna
Friendly people. Stay and play is amazing. Great equipment
I love the Y and I tell everyone!
Laura on Friday's has a great spin class.
I’ve visited the Pasadena Y for the first time and was thrilled to swim laps in an outdoor pool. Sitting on a lounge chair and listening to music, I felt like I was on vacation. On a Thursday afternoon.
Friendly staff, nice facilities!
Welcoming staff and variety of activities.
The variety of activities available.
My visit to y always give me positive energy and happy feeling to deal with such nice people.
I like having the ability to go to multiple locations.
Great staff, terrific pool, like the food!
I like the fact that the pool is open all year. It is hard to find things for my kids to do after school during the winter to stay active. They love to swim so this really helps.
Everyone is friendly and very helpful.
I love the year round pool. And the entire upscale ambience of the facility.
It would be nice if you would allow Silver and Fit senior to join.
It's very clean and there are always machines available. Nice size sitting area in the snack bar.
I’m a lap swimmer and really enjoyed the lap pool. Very clean. The women’s locker room is clean and accommodating. It’s worth the longer ride for me.
I enjoy the morning lap swim until 9am, the water exercise classes (Monday - Saturday), conversations with people my age (seniors), and pot lucks. People who attend the classes are very nice.
Suggestions for Improvement: A female employee at the front desk needs an attitude adjustment, when she questioned my white hair peeking out of a hat, while my photo showed me with dark hair (a wig I wear to hide the fact that I have had cancer more than 10 times). She spoke of the difference publicly, in front of other people checking in, which was both embarrassing and humiliating for me. It made me feel very small, crushed my spirit a bit. The next time I saw her, I let her know how she made me feel, so that she will hopefully not repeat this experience with anyone else. I now avoid her, and show my key fob ID to anyone else.
June and July, seniors have to get up at the crack of dawn to swim laps, because the lap lanes are filled with kids. I can no longer get up at 6 am, so this is very disappointing. If the kids swim programs didn't start until 9 am, then seniors could still swim at 8 am.
The mowing and weed whacking during the 9 am aquatic exercise classes is dangerous for the people in the pool and on the deck, and makes it impossible to hear the instructor and listen to the music. Rocks and dirt could be propelled into the eyes of people. When I said something to the other ladies in the class, they said they had already reported it, and it fell on deaf ears. I wish the YMCA would take our safety more seriously. I had a broken toe and several bones in my foot fractured last June from a large man swimming in my lap lane, and he kicked my foot. I was unable to return to the Y until this August.

Great classes, great instructors, very clean, very good equipment, very friendly people. Good food, a wonderful place to work out!
