I love going to the YMCA
I like that there are a lot of middle aged and older folks there just taking care of their health. And families. It isn’t intimidating for ordinary people. Plus I love the windows. It makes the place light and uplifting, not confining and claustrophobic.
The Y in Towson has been a wonderful experience for our family. There is something for everyone between Youth Sports, Fitness Classes, Swimming, and Charity Events! It is truly a hidden gem! We tell all our friends about how great this place is.
I feel at home there. The equipment is useful for my fitness goals, my personal trainer is wonderful, and I know every visit is leading me toward a healthier version of myself.

I love the y but wish there would be at least 1 or 2 aqua fitness classes in the evening-or on the weekend?

Some of the machines (particularly the vertical espresso bikes) are showing their wear.
It was hard to understand putting a swim class (still a bit small) in the middle of the Monday morning lap swim period.
Otherwise things seem to be going well enough.

I love the friendly bustle when I arrive in the morning, the dads dressed for a workout, their tiny children on shoulders, in arms or by the hand all headed to the child care center, the young mothers in the same mode, and on Fridays the volunteer knitters sitting at their task making baby bonnets for newborns. The Y is amazingly friendly and welcoming withal their high level of activity. The Workout room, the equipment room, the swimming pools and the big gym are lall humming in the esrly morning when I arrive. It’s very motivating , for me, and comfortable and friendly as well.
I feel very welcome ! I do like to swim, and rack up the yards. Sometimes, I meet someone new. I'm thankful and look forward to being a member !
Var8ety and frequency of classes
I know that the Y in Towson is beautiful, but I am enjoying my Everfit classes at the Weinberg Y because it is closer to home.
Most of the equipment is usually working. The pool is fairly accessible for lap swim and the hours are reasonable.

I really enjoy my Aquajog classes and lap swimming and my husband has benefitted greatly from his personal training. Most of all, though, I love the feeling of community at the Towson Y. On any given day, you can come across a group of people crocheting, people sitting and chatting around the fire, kids engaging in any number of activities, teens coming and going. There's so much life at the Y.
