I am thrilled with the Fit Quest program which helps even beginners get acquainted with where their individualized fitness level is starting on the various strength training equipment, and how to use them properly, and even provides the Y members with a Fit Quest App connected which shows the user how to perform each exercise as well as provide a daily strength and exercise schedule within it.
In addition, the Orokawa Y in Towson is the first Y in Central Maryland to launch the new EGYM system with its new strength training equipment tailored to the exact needs of each registered user when they get oriented and fitted with a detectable device recognized by each related strength training machine also related to a specific recommended App.
Most of all, I love being able to learn how to swim at this stage in my life. Also, I have been learning how to use any exercise equipment without feeling intimidated because the fitness coaches and personal trainers/staff have been more than willing to answer my questions which increases my confidence and ability to use them. Furthermore, I like having the opportunity to join classes and be part of a diverse community of people with all types of fitness levels who are mainly accommodated no matter what physical abilities or disabilities they have.
I could go on and on about my Y experience, however, I am just grateful to be able to experience what I have thus far and thank God that He has allowed me to be able to move and have a mind to increase my physical activity in this stage of my life as a retiree!
The Orokawa Y is clean, well-staffed, and well-maintained. It has the facilities necessary for a good workout, and its early hours are convenient for working people.

Every person who works there is kind, helpful, dependable and of good attitude. The people that are members are of all age groups, courteous, and inspirational. The offerings of groups for families, individuals of any age or capabilities are amazing. They have the community's best interest at the core of all they do, offering food for the needy on a weekly basis for example, options to improve everyone's health and wellbeing. I use it daily and I am thrilled that it is available in my community.
