Tai Chi intro classes
The instructors are amazing! I look forward to classes because they are so well planned/choreographed. I feel all the instructors have such a strong commitment to the classes by showing up with enthusiasm, encouragement and great music.
Customer service very nice
I only use the pool. It is always clean. Some of the lifeguards are friendly.
Great classes and instructors. Also, great community.

It’s a very friendly place. The staffs are quite knowledgeable. Lots of well organized classes to keep people healthy. Exercise area is loaded with various activity machines, which meet everyone’s needs. My husband and I are very happy to be a part of that facility.

Variety and frequency
I like everything
Pool is great, just the right size for swimming and like the new exercise area upstairs after the remodel. Place still feels cozy.
I like that the fact that I'm going to the Decatur Y regularly (after a many years' "hiatus"!!) means that I am exercising regularly again!
All joking aside: I am a regular attendee at BodyPump classes, including those led by Lucky, Dana, Melody, and Claire. I have also begun attending Lucky's Wednesday evening "Core and More" class.
Like most people, the hardest part of exercising is getting myself to the Y. It's always so easy to come up with an excuse not to go--but the caliber of the Y's instructors and their excellent energy gets me showing up regularly! I cannot say "thank you" enough for the friendliness and skill of the four instructors mentioned above. They may not know how much it means when, as we're in a particularly strenuous section of a BodyPump workout, they say something like, "I'm here with you," or "This is the last set for this track," or "Only eight more reps to go!!" I know that they really care that the students in their class have a great workout and I'm very grateful!
In addition to the instructors, I've met so many nice people who attend the same classes that I do. Seeing the same faces, generally speaking, at the classes I attend also fosters a sense of "We're all in this together" that I find to be both comforting and motivational.
Thanks for the chance to provide this feedback!
We love how it is a cross section of the community and very diverse. We love that our child has a safe place to come and play basketball with his peers after school.
The Decatur Family Y is very conveniently located near our home. The facility is well-outfitted with the cardio and resistance training I typically use, and is clean and well-maintained. The staff is pleasant and helpful, though I honestly have limited interaction with them, which is one thing I miss.
Clean and friendly place to work out
The few classes I’ve attended, yoga & water aerobics, have been well run. Those more familiar with the class were helpful.

Varied, inclusive, and an humane.
