Great BodyPump instructors!
Reflect the community of wider Austin (not a single race, age, income demographic; not homogeneous like some hipster gyms). Love that we can propose ideas for classes and they are taken up ( I’ve been eyeing the martial arts classes… would advanced salsa or two step partner dancing class be possible too? Maybe someday?) would love to see a “community room” added in the new plan that could be rented for meetings, like a study room in the library….
Staff is friendly and the gym is clean. There are so many programs and things to do. Just wish we had more time to be at the Y!
The machines and free weights
We love being back at the Y, now as a family. We’re making great use of the kids club and now swim lessons.
Clean, friendly, lots of programs.
I use it for ping pong and I use sw Y for my swimming
Latter is clean and the personal are good. However a plumber has been needed for a long time to fix shower many valves at sw Y
I have attended the twice weekly aqua fitness class for years. Liza is a great instructor! I also recommend Crystal's Zumba class whenever I can.
Everything!

welcoming and comfortable environment
The class instructors are impressively skilled and knowledgeable, especially Maggie at Body Pump and Sarah at Yoga-lates. The class times are varied and convenient.
Great for workouts!
The cleanliness. I see folks mopping all of the time in the locker rooms....so appreciated. And the pool is the best in the city if you can get a lane...lol.
there is something for everyone....
I appreciate that the Y is staying open later now.
Wide variety of programs and activities are offered. Great machines!
All of them - there are enough options for all the many different people who participate and my varied interests and abilities.

Lots if group ex options. Sauna and indoor pool is nice option.
I love the welcoming community feeling I get when I come in.
I live the variety of classes
I love the community at the town lake Y. I grew up in the nursery there when my mom taught senior aerobics in the 1980s. When I came home from college, the Town Lake Y was a place for me to get ready for my professional work day after training for triathlon. When so had babies, the child watch program gave me freedom and space to get back to my fitness routine while knowing my children were safe and well cared for. Every Friday I would take my kids to the instructional pool where I taught them how to swim. I used to love going to Elizabeth Doss’s yogalates class. Now that they are older, my children join me and my husband when we lift weights and I have loved helping my daughters with their swimming stroke technique as they develop into proficient competitive water polo players. I still love working out at the Town Lake Y. These days I usually swim or run at the trail and take advantage of the locker rooms and sauna. The community is so strong, the facilities are wonderful. I’m glad to have had this location as a cornerstone in my life for over 40 years.
