Intergenerational, welcoming, variety
The facility is well staffed, clean, and completely equipped.
core classes in morning - and runs on town lake trails outside
The facilities and equipment are nice and the class and activity schedule has plenty of options. And there are some really great teachers/trainers. The location is also fabulous.
The senior fitness program is excellent for developing social connections and maintaining physical fitness.
They are affordable and accesss to multiple locations
I use the pool, love aqua classes, and appreciate the cleanliness of pool and showers and dressing rooms. I also appreciate the friendly and helpful staff.
I like the people at the Y and the range of classes available.
The swimming pool
I have used classes in the past (yoga, body pump, etc) and really enjoyed them. The instructors were all very friendly and outgoing. I’ve even taken swim lessons at this location.
I mostly go for the weight equipment and cardio equipment. The Town Lake location has the best variety and the most space for lifting than any other Boston location. I have noticed a lot of equipment that has been needing repair for quite some time. There are weight machines, treadmills, a stair stepper, and even fans for circulating the air which have not worked for a few months. This equipment is only 1 to 2 years old it should be under a warranty or at least serviced timely.
I absolutely love this location, but would not feel confident if this location intends to grow and expand in the future if they can’t service basic amenities and equipment in the present.
Nice variety. Good instructors
I am only in water aerobics with Q and he is great
The high variety & caliber of what I know about the trainers & instructors & other athletic leaders providing training & instruction to all of us in the various activities provided.
The generally high level of professionalism I see with staff in interacting z& working directly with members & visitors.
We’re a membership of multicultural, international members, & many diversities in interests & physical goals for our bodies & minds. We’re not all easy to work with.
Maggie Savage is such a great teacher. She is great about checking in with people and making sure they are confident about what they are doing in class. She is good about challenging us but with an understanding of personal limitations.
The staff keep everything clean and functioning well. And the people at the desk are welcoming and helpful if any need arises.
I love Umberto “Q” who teaches the Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 - 9:45 Water Aerobics Class.
The staff is very good.
Overall the lifeguards are excellent, however, several of them are very immature. This has ben noticeable at several of the locations around Austin.
Social part and working out with others is as important to me as the physical workout!
I swim 3X/wk & the app really helps with planning times when all lanes are open
The reception staff is exceptionally friendly!
The aquatics staff is wonderful !
The cleaning crews keep the facility sparkling
I started running out of the Townlake Y in 1979 and have been an off-and-on user ever since. Recently, I started taking Senior Fit classes - much needed and much appreciated. I'm not a serious athlete, but find myself down there 3 or 4 times per week. The variety of facilities is great; but the variety of people is what makes the place special. The only thing they have in common is they are universally friendly. I love the place.
I do not participate in programs - I swim and lift on my own.
I love the group clases, yoga, pilates!
Friendly staff. Good AC
The great variety—something for everyone!
The swimming pools!
The weights and the cardio machines!
The private instructor, Sarah, was great! She helped me more than I expected.
Great support and instruction from the teachers.
I really like the BodyCombat and BodyPump classes! Amy is a wonderful instructor -- we love her!
I like everything. I feel like the facilities were kept cleaner up until a couple months ago.

The people!
