Zumba, turbo kick and Barre with Anson are my fav classes.
I like the sense of community at the Y. Feels like home and I have made some really great friends there.
Facility of use, no peer pressure or culture, everyone wants to come in do their business and get going.
The trainers/ employees and the types of programs offered.
Really excited about what the Y always has to offer. And I am always referring people to it...but it's always about location for most. Thanks for all you do.
I swim and most appreciate that the pool does not have dose to too much chlorine and is always the perfect temperature. I love that the room faces south so that lovely light comes in. I also appreciate that the jacuzzi is next to the pool. The women's main dressing room is very comfortable. I do miss the scale however.
Large open space on the exercise area with lots of windows, good locker room, great yoga room.
I really enjoy the YMCA Townlake.
Suggestions: We need more body pump classes. The number of classes declined for the summer, but they didn't go back up in the fall. Overall, they are very popular and they need more classes.
The new app. ummm, was this used prior to being rolled out? I can no longer narrow down which classes I want to see in the app, it automatically shows them ALL. Additionally, there seems to be some new "pay for" classes, but there isn't a way or more info on how to sign up in the app.
Great variety and choices!
I go for just the pool, but all of the facilities are nice.
Child Watch Is amazing. Elena and the entire crew are really unbelievable and take such good care of the kids. I can’t imagine our lives without that nice small break that they give us to get some exercise!
Lots to choose from, low cost, high quality
Varied times and activities, welcoming staff, nice facilty!
I like the water programs for seniors.
The facility is new and clean and bright. Classes at convenient times and friendly staff. Good price.
The schedule of classes fits my own schedule very well. I like the variety of classes and the instructors are all very professional and sensitive to our individual quirks.
I like the variety. I really dislike the times. It's hard to work with my schedule.
I like the weightlifting area but it needs another squat rack.
I love the variety of classes and the quality of the equipment and the diversity of the members.
I love the senior fitness class.
Activities for senior citizens. Health promotion and opportunities for everyone including those with limited abilities.
Variety of classes for all fitness levels and (mostly) times.
I'm enjoying personal training
YMCA is diverse and welcoming to all comers. The programs are varied by skill level. It is a non-judgmental environment which allows newcomers to take chances to stretch their abilities.
My first introduction to the YMCA was the 92nd Street Y in NYC when I was a teen. I was in the shower at that Y when word came that Bobby Kennedy had been murdered in Los Angeles. I lead a cross cultural group.of German students and GI's at the CVYM (YMCA) in Nurnberg, Germany for three years.
Excellent staff, especially the spinning class staff.
I've been going to the Town Lake Y since I was a young man. I've always enjoyed the facilities and they have improved each year. Now I have a family and feel fortunate I'm able to share such a wonderful place with them!
It’s a great place to work out in a peaceful and diverse environment where all kinds of people are accepted.
Enjoyed the Wednesday Aqua Fit class
Wonderful location. A place to work out and enjoy the atmosphere while visiting Austin.
I’ve been a Town Lake YMCA member since 1981. For years, I used the Y as my spot to start and end runs in the Town Lake area. I’ve also lifted free weights with varying intensity. The only class/program I’ve ever used is the Tuesday/Thursday “back” or stretch led by my longtime friend Barbara Jo. I began that in the spring of 2017.
The Y offers something for almost anybody. Any kind of fitness at any intensity.
But what I like most is that it is the only place I know in Austin where you can meet and be friends with Austinites of every imaginable kind. Over the years, I’ve had Y friends who were as diverse as a state Supreme Court justice and a bouncer at the Continental Club. We all get along. The camaraderie is genuine and often entertaining.
Both of our children have used the Y, my wife used to have a good walking friend there. It’s a place that helps families.
It also matters to me that the Y turns NO ONE away on the basis of need. Once I found out that I qualified for a veteran’s discount, I became a sustaining giver to help ensure the funds for those in need.
Thanks for all you do for Austin.
