I am new to YMCA so haven't tried out much yet, looking forward to learning how to lift weights
I love the coaches commitment, but not all coaches are committed to teaching them manners.
Aqua fit is a perfect class to attend.
I've been a member since 2009 (when it was Triton) and I really like the group exercise classes, especially Beth's classes and Stephanie's Dance FX class.
My biggest complaint is that the Y doesn't check for class registrations before members can participate in group exercise classes. I've been in some classes that were way overcrowded, and I've also seen some members walk in, then turn around and leave because there were too many people (more than the allowed maximum) in the room.
Failure to check for class registrations is unfair and inconsiderate to those of us who take the time and effort to register in advance. You should put reminder notices in the doors of the group exercise room AND give the instructors the authority to do a roll call and identify people who haven't signed up. I saw Stephanie do this once for her Dance FX class and she asked non-registrants to leave, but they snuck back in after class had begun. That's just wrong!!!
Staff is friendly and instructors are knowledgeable
The Y is a friendly and open place that welcomes everyone in our community.
I love the smaller feeling of the West Side YMCA.
I’ve had sessions for personal trading with Troy and he’s so helpful, encouraging professional. It’s really helped me feel more comfortable going back to the gym and starting all over safely.
The friendship and the staff. Everyone's very loving and really care for each other. Even the instructors are very caring and supportive. We need the pools fixed. Water exercises are very important.
The work out classes
Group exercises, young swimming lessons, family activities, kids programs
I had several questions about some of the children programs and my questions were answered. Everyone I spoke to was respectful and considerate.
Excellent range of equipment
Clean facilities and great amenities. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The pool is rarely crowded and it doesn't take long to get into a lane.
I really like how friendly the Y employees are.
Love Marvin and his wealth of knowledge that he shares! Also love how he shows genuine interest in helping those working out and takes the time to greet those strolling in.
Absolutely love and enjoy Mandi’s cycling class. Her enthusiasm and way of challenging you and motivating you makes me look forward to her Monday and Wednesday class and has me leaving feeling stronger and accomplished!
Hannah is so kind and makes approaching her with questions on how to use machines easy; appreciate her help and motivating words!
Awesome instructor
It's easy to book and the classes are good
I enjoy the body pump classes, and though yoga is great when I can catch one it’s a long walk and requires extra planning to make sure I arrive on time to get to the studio.
The facility is large and clean, and the folks who come here are generally good people and respectful of each other.
Parking is no issue.
My only suggestion for improvement is adding some heavier weights in the body pump studio. The heaviest barbell weight is currently 10 pounds, and some members aren’t challenged with sixty pounds on their squat weight. Having a dozen twenty pound weights for the barbells would be helpful.
The facilities are clean, there are plenty of machines, the kids club is a fun area for my daughter, plenty of tennis courts, my wife loves the yoga and barret classes. When the facility is packed, it is manageable to find machines / free weights. Staff is also friendly.
Love the classes! Great instructors! Staff is very friendly!
Great Staff and programs!
I like the group exercises and the environment most of all. I think this YMCA does a remarkable job of fostering a friendly and respectful environment. My only complaint is the lack of weight (reps, body pump), classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I would like to have the option of attending a class on those days but the options are limited. Other than that I’m happy I have a gym I actually look forward to going to.
The two indoor pools butut unhappy about limited hours.. Like warmth of one pool, cleanliness. Friendliness. Somewhat frustrated with swim lessons for three kids taking whole small pool. Don't participate in 'activities". Like personal trainer Inez.
Cost isn't competitive with other gyms.
Pilates classes are the only thing I use, and I go daily during the week. I like all of the instructors
Instructors are fun, get a good workout.
Lots of different classes. Plenty of machines. Open many hours.
Child care
I love that all the equipment is always in great condition
Yoga Free weights!!

Everything! The equipment and the facilities are well managed, maintained and staffed. Staff is friendly and helpful. Except for Sunday, the hours are prefect.
