I like the variety offered and the availability of the facilities
I love the variety of classes and the instructors! Janice Geniva, Nichole Kilroy and Carol Anne Ganly are some of my favorites!
I had one recent negative interaction that I'd like to share. I brought in some donations for the holiday cheer recently. I had received an email that morning that I thought said individual donations (vice a holiday shop kit) were also being accepted. I had been accumulating items for a holiday shop kit but when I saw the email I decided to bring the items I had (2 games and an art kit filled with art supplies). I brought them to the front desk at the Kennett Y. I asked where I should put them and the employee behind the desk told me they really just needed the holiday shop kits but that she would take what I brought in. I explained I was aware of the shop kit but that I had received an email that morning that indicated individual donations were needed as well. She rudely told me it must have come from theYMCA organization and not the branch and she didn't know what I was referring to. I offered to take them back and bring in the complete kit but she just said no I'll take them. I left embarrassed and ashamed. I have participated in various service programs through the Y for many, many years. I love how they support our local community and reach so many people. I also have particularly appreciated the way the Y has created opportunities for my children to be involved in such activities from a very young age. For example having people take feathers off a turkey to bring in different canned goods etc. This interaction (while an outlier) left a terrible taste in my mouth. Perhaps. I misunderstood the email I received. However, the woman could have handled the situation much better- it was completely unneccessary.
I like EGYM and the pool
Pickleball and Bobypump
I like the variety offered. I especially love that you have added programs for us older folks particularly the classes taught by Nicole Kilroy. I also appreciated the falls prevention classes as well as the seated classes for folks starting back into health .
Very welcoming staff, good equipment, good maintenance, great classes. Love that the little kids are around! So glad the Y’s committed to include all members of our community in their programs, and encourage members to donate to specific groups (women’s period products, winter coats, sneakers, holiday gifts, etc).
All new machines! Clean friendly place.
Friendly staff. Great fitness center. Clean locker rooms.
Helpful friendly staff. Clean, well maintained equipment and facilities. Also, like the Y360 option for home workouts
Nice selection of classes. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Facilities are aways clean and ready for use.
The availability of organized and non organized activities. The equipment, the personnel, the cleanliness, parking, size everything. Is my second home, also the place a made a lot of néw friends.
Pickleball
All your exercise equipment
Less crowded than other branches.
I've become an avid pickleball player. It seems pickleball has become a major indoor gym activity with many more people wanting to play than there is prime time availability.
The Y is my happy place! Great classes, instructors, and equipment.
While working out in weight rooms or playing pickleball its a great way to meet new friends.
While I don’t participate in programs and activities, I do appreciate all the programs and activities the Y provides
The teachers are wonderful and the classes are reasonably priced
I like the quality of instruction!
1. EGYM egym is very helpful. More of a staff presense at busy times wold help keep order among the users...the nature of many of the users is to ignore the point of the process and prevent those who respect the process from being delayed, indoor tailgated or just plain overtaken. There must be feedback from the egym program to determine who needs to be re-trained...
2. HYGIENE please spend whatever the cost is to have spray bottles that dont drip or leak from the handle. The current crop of spray bottles are inferior. The quality of the towel has imptoved maybe? fewer tears which drop all over the place...
3. Staff is, as always, helpful and informed.
The Y offers a variety of programs and activities for all ages. Thus one is able to add variety to workouts. You never get bored.
I have been a student in Jeremy Herrin's beginner pickleball clinic in November. He is an excellent teacher, very well prepared with a meaningful sequence of activities and drills. He is also a very good communicator: explaining concepts and strategies very well and he takes the time to send a brief email to his students every week to introduce the theme of the class for the coming lesson. He really goes the extra mile!
The staff is very friendly. The facility is well kept and I appreciate that there are 2 pickleball courtsn- some Ys only have 2 designated.
Great facility and exceptional instructors.
Thank you for extending the weekend sauna hours
I like the new equipment in the wellness center and the way you have placed them in the two rooms. Music volume is appropriate for each room. I’m really enjoying the new set up. Thanks.
Wonderful instructors and good choice of classes
