The instructor was great!
Gabriel's class is BEYOND! I've been doing yoga for quite some time but clearly not to the level most of CorePower's clientele. I was thinking perhaps I wasn't advanced enough to take the class. But Gabriel offered advice to stay within our comfort level while encouraging us to safely push our limits. While I was far closer to "novice" than anyone else in class, I didn't feel that I didn't belong there. Gabriel also offered me some encouragement after class which has me excited to return. I appreciate that anyone - from the most advanced yogi - to those of us still finding our balance - can find what they need here.
The teachers are great and the studio is with the better ones of core power. The locker products are always replenished. Some of the classes are a little too crowded and loud, but it's worth it.
The center is cultural sesiitive
I love the instructors at Pasadena CPY. In taking their classes, it is apparent that they put a lot of time and effort into the sequence. The sequences are unique to each instructor and I love the vibes each instructor brings to class. It encourages me to keep coming back every time! The instructors make this location by far one of my favorites!! The instructors are the reason why Iâve kept my CPY membership for all these years.

The teachers are passionate, the community is amazing. The space is well maintained. CorePower Pasadena has been a staple in getting my body and mind back in shape. I especially love my C2 classes from Neil, Erica, and Michael.

The instructor for the 8am Saturday Sculpt (5/20) class was by far one of the best Iâve ever taken. He did a fun ice breaker to introduce your neighbor which helped relax the maximum capacity room. He then had a call and response âHow do you feel?â and the answer âstrongâ was very empowering and motivating as well as the other two mantras (âAre you ready? I stay readyâ and âWho has it better? Nobody!â) The playlist was well thought out complimented the class and a great cool down squat routine that was cued by the musicâs lyrics about âgoing upâ and âgoing downâ. The instructors energy was infectious and his positive attitude kept everyone going. His continuous reminder that âif somebody doubts youâŠthen go so far that you canât hear them anymoreâ has stuck in my mind since the conclusion of class. I wish I lived in Pasadena because Iâd be in this class every Saturday as long as he was instructing. I wish I could remember his name but he is a true asset to Core Power. Namaste!

Pasadena and San Diego in particular have a great sense of caring and genuine community- this is a reflection of the management teams and their roots in the original company and its intentions.
On the downside As a now resident of LA I find most of the seasoned instructors have left and the new instructors completely lack Knowledge of the language of Yoga and sequencing skill. They do not know the correct terminology history or intention behind a 5000 year old tradition.
As a more experienced Yogi I am hard pressed to find an instructor whose class I am willing to take. Corepower has always been my Go-To studio but now i have nbeen looking for alternatives dying to the poor level of teaching.
I like attending CorePower because I know that the studio experience will be welcoming, clean and a great place to practice.
