Variety of exercises
I am a 56 year old busy nurse practitioner. I own my business and have several employees. My job is stressful. I never realized how stress was adversely affecting my body until I had a near death health issue a couple of years ago spending two weeks in the hospital. One year ago, I was back in the hospital for a follow up major surgery. This year on the first class of January , I had the pleasure of exercising at Orange Theory with a nice group of people and Coach Cecilia. Coach Cecilia made a comment at the end of the class after stretching that went something like “we are grateful that our bodies allow us to exercise”. She had other positive and encouraging words but this specific comment really touched my heart. The same date one year prior, I could barely walk. The same date two years prior I couldn’t even walk.
I have never played sports and besides riding my bike leisurely, have never liked to exercise. Because I know that it is good for health and I teach health and wellness every day, I have attempted routine exercise by joining programs but never stuck to it until now. There is something about other people exercising at the same time, even if they are 1000 times more fit than me or in the rare occasion less fit than me, that gives me motivation. I like that my weaknesses do not adversely affect others in the room. I like that the coaches do not judge. I like that others do not judge. It’s just a group of people trying to be their best selves, whatever that is at the time. Most of the time coaches push. Other times the coaches comment that it’s ok for you to just do you, whatever that is that day. On some days, just showing up for mental health is the goal. Actually, most of the professionals I have met who have high stress jobs mention the improved mental health from exercise at orange theory. I am so happy to finally be exercising routinely for the first time in my life and just can’t thank those behind Orange Theory enough.
I like that you are guided through the workout but you still have the freedom to work at your own pace and modify as you need to.
I enjoys the workout structure and the supportive coaches. The times classes are offered work great with my schedule.
I have been working out the past three years at another gym. I was focusing on cardio, however here at Orange Theory I’m able to focus on strength as well. Having been back for three months I am starting to see small changes occurring with increased strength and cardio.
The science really works.
Everyone at the studio is friendly and helpful. The workouts and music are amazing. I’ve been going for almost 6 months and still obsessed!
Special shout out to Coach Liv! She is a staple at the studio. I’ve seen her juggle a lot at once and she does it flawlessly. Huge fan of coach Liv for making the studio what it is!
Great combination of aerobic and strength training. Friendly and helpful coaches and terrific front office staff.
The workouts are always fun and engaging. I look forward to going to the gym now!

No force, do at your own pace.
The music keeps everyone pumped up. The instructors are kind, helpful, and motivating. I love having the workout planned for me. I feel comfortable walking in, as if I were seeing family or friends on a regular basis.
Great coaches great staff great classes. Great community work within the classes.
I love that it is a mix of treadmill, floor (free weights, TRX straps, etc), and rowing. You can choose to do strictly a strength class, tread class, or normal class that incorporates all three stations. I always leave feeling really good.
Supportive coaches, great members for my regular M-F 5 am classes. Challenges to keep me going and trying to learn more and make myself better. I love that I can do fitness consults when I need one - the coaches are there to listen and advise and it is amazing. I love that the classes change everyday, it’s never the same thing again. Signature workouts and benchmarks are super fun, too.
I haven’t done anything physical apart from a brisk walk in many years! I love the format of this workout. I love that I can adjust and go at my own pace without feeling awkward. The energy and friendliness of the instructors is fantastic! I’m hooked!!!
It changes up so it never gets boring or feels like Groundhogs Day. I love having my workout planned for me and not having to think or wait for a weights like you do at other fitness centers. The Coaches are very energetic and knowledgeable and are always making sure you are using proper form. I think the Coaches and staff at Orangetheory Charleston are the best of the best. I feel like I am working out with family. The regional owner, Brock, also makes it a point to visit his studios often which shows how much he cares that customers are happy.
Best place ever
You make exercise fun!
Best workout ever
Great instructors and good workouts. Since joining I'm getting in better shape.
I like that it is different everyday. The coaches are great.
I love orange theory! I'm someone who used to hate exercise and hate going to the gym. I would force myself to go and most of the time I would end up not going to the gym at all. But now with orange theory I find that I am showing up regularly and consistently. The format of the classes as well as being coached have really helped me with working on my fitness goals. I now look forward to my workouts. The coaches are all very friendly and a great help! Great at encouraging members. The challenges and signature workouts make it fun and help with tracking progress so that it's more tangible. Staff members are also very friendly and personable. Overall a great environment and I highly recommend orange theory :)
It’s challenging no matter your level of fitness or strength.
I love the community that surrounds Orange Theory, the coach led classes, and the over all environment of the gym. I get excited to go work out!
It’s not about competition. It about self drive and being accountable to yourself. You go your pace, with a goal of hitting the orange zone at every station, where possible. The feeling of working out side by side, with ample space between, makes it even better to know they are all working in the same way. the music keeps us on tempo, and the instruction is awesomely pushing us and protecting our form, to avoid injury, and to get the best outcome. My body has changed. I’m stronger, and feel better about me! Thank you Orange Theory!
Love the music and the rhythm of the class. Keeps me focused and motivated to remain in the green and orange zone.
Coaches are great! Always something new, and has done wonders for my physical fitness.
I was really disappointed in the three workers at the front desk. They didn’t tell me my spot so the rest of the class I was lost and didn’t have a spot to work out. The instructor was great. One of the front desk workers came out and tried making excuses blaming me for not filling out the waiver the night before. Which is funny since I tried several times and it said the link had expired. The front desk workers didn’t hesitate demanding for my credit card. A lot of improvements can be made here. Be better.
Incredible staff and members.. lots of great positive energy is a fun environment and the staff both coaches and front desk are wonderful and helpful
