I love OT!
The coaches and the friends I have made. The West Linn studio feels like a community!
Fun, effective and always different with some good music too!
Preston does a great job running the location!
Great place to get motivated and complete your workout with fantastic coaches.
I was turned away twice for coming in late for class because of traffic during rush hour and there were no exceptions. A gym is supposed to encourage its members to workout not discourage them regardless. Most people go to the gym to distress after a long day of work or other life activities. There’s got to be some rules that need to be changed sometimes to keep the people to do what they signed up for. It was a very disappointing experience to go through without any kind of consideration from the manager and reason doesn’t seem to make any sense and doesn’t align with the structure of the gym. I felt I wasn’t getting the service and treatment I was expecting for the amount I was paying.
LOVE!!!
The workout encourages me work hard because it’s always different. It has improved my resting heart and massively improved my fitness in a year
The coaches are a revolving door..
The schedule works great with my work schedule and classes are never too full of people. The trainers are great!
I think overall the coaches were good. The issues were with one of the particular employee who signs people in and dictate where I would start (works at Lowry Tuesday and Fridays afternoon). Whether the class was full or not she would not permit me to start in an open equipment slot. The first time I asked the reason for not being able to start at the treadmill as almost half were open and she responded by telling me to go where my heart desires very rudely and proceeded to ignore for future check-ins. The second time I was trying to ask her about an equipment and dismissed me so I went to ask the coach who explain the monitor was not working and that I could start on that equipment if I liked. The employee proceeded to go into class once it had started to scold me in front of everyone and tell me that she told me to start in the rower. I have never experienced this type of behavior from any other gym I have ever attended. The following time I attended a class with her signing me up she made it a point to tell a person who came after me that they are "so easy", with the point of me hearing it. The fact that she was able to continue essentially bulling me for a service I paid monthly for was what prompted me to cancel my membership. I will not pay for a membership for any gym where I would be treated like that as a member.
The manager was very rude.
Love the staff, the workouts, the challenges! 3 years in and it’s still awesome!
Everything. Workouts are amazing as coaches are too. Very knowledgeable and hardworking coaches.
Castle Hills has GREAT coaches! The front staff is welcoming. The studio is clean.
I would love if front desk staff could be more easily flagged down by the coach to help with HR monitor issues or equipment problems. For instance, my rower monitor unfortunately shut down when I was 1500 meters into the 2000 meter benchmark. I flagged down the coach (Andy) who basically said “ah bummer!” My HR monitor was still on the large screen, but the rower and tread weren’t locating me to pull me up / track my stats. After I completed the 2000 meter row (with my best guess), I ran to the front desk and asked if she could help get me back on the screens. She was able to do it within seconds!
I would encourage coaches to utilize the help of their front desk staff for things like this - maybe it would be helpful if they carried a walkie to flag them down? I’ve had a handful of instances where I let the coach know that my heart rate monitor isn’t syncing right (HR reading 50s but should be 160s lol) and they give one tip to try to help but no one follows through to make sure it ever starts working. It would be great if the coach could tell the front desk to keep an eye on X person’s monitor to make sure it comes back online and to check in with that client in case it continues to malfunction. Maybe they able to run out a loaner in those instances?
The girl next to me during the 2000m benchmark issue said “hey … I’m so sorry that happened to you!” It was really nice to hear and it made me realize it would have felt good if the staff expressed the same sentiment. I totally understand that HR monitors malfunctioning is not the fault of the staff and it can be a difficult thing to control. However, it felt good for someone to say “that sucked - I’m sorry” because we pay a lot of money for those HR monitors/the classes. It is the basis of the Orangetheory model to use the biofeedback from the monitor… so when they don’t work, it’s really frustrating mid workout. It felt good for someone to commiserate with me - just wanted to give that feedback! I try hard to just remind myself it’s about the effort, not about the stats, and I know the staff are often busy multitasking ;) thanks!
I like being challenged and not have to always plan my own workouts. Just show up and do the work. Great coaches and environment with positive energy!
The people are great!! To improve, a deep cleaning of the facilities is needed. There is significant dust on fans on the treadmills as well as on the wall/ceiling as well as dust and dirt around equipment throughout the rooms.
I love this place. I always look forward to coming. Lal our coach is fantastic; he watches over everyone and is extremely helpful The front desk people Zola and Genevieve are beyond great. There is no way I would do all the sprinting we do on my own, but with the group atmosphere and Lal's support it's easy.
Great place, great people, just show up don’t need to plan a work out. Just show up, give it your all.
That head coach Austin sure is fine.
I love the U District studio for so many reasons! The staff that welcomes us in and answers are questions are fantastic (especially Colin and Grace). The coaches are incredible - I am a Sav regular and love her energy, her music, and her ability to make the class go quickly. I also often attend Coree's classes and love the specific instructions she gives to really help with form. The studio is clean and welcoming and I sometimes shower before work. Thank you to everyone at the studio - it's a highlight of my week!
The studio is clean, high-quality fitness equipment and engaging coaches.
They’re challenging and designed to push you to the next level of your fitness goals.
The classes are well taught and fun. We have a great group of instructors and front desk employees. I would like to acknowledge them all!!
Arianna is great at the front desk in motivating me especially early in the morning!
I have noticed that some great coaches are leaving the studio.
All in all everything is good.
Great Staff, organized & varied workouts,
encouraging community
Rushed from work to make it to the 530 class there’s a lot of traffic and I showed up one minute late from the five minute grace period. You shouldn’t charge full price for being a minute late. Amazing classes but would not recommend to friends because of the price and late policy.
Hi intensity. Good coaches
