How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Blanca from northdale sports clips kept arguing with me about the hair cut I asked for. I got the feeling it was because I'm a woman trying to get a man's cut. This never happens to us at citrus park, by the way and never at any other spots clips. In any case the result is my hair is terrible. Uneven, whisps sticking out, had to ask my wife to try to use office sissors to trim it. It's simply a crap cut.
To make things worse she couldn't figure out your own billing system and couldn't apply the season pass. We had to pay cash even though we're already prepaid. Then I tried to pay cash and ask for a touchdown card and they didn't have any! Wow, strike three right there.

What can you do to make it right? Have a chat with Blanca. Maybe a little diversity training for that location so they realize there's more than one kind of girl and maybe they should respect the client's requests, even if it goes against their gender biases.

What do you like about our products and services?

Massage and hot steam towel are the best. Also all the stylists seem much more talkative than at places like Great clips. Always a good service experience at Sportsclips.

This is an awesome place. I love getting my haircut here. The ladies are great and so welcoming. My favorite hairstylist Arielle is always so sweet. Definitely a place I would recommend.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The entire time I was in the chair the two stylists were complaining about how “picky” their customers had been all day and how they were forced to correct their mistakes until they got it right. This made it uncomfortable for me to point out what I didn’t like, and I ended up leaving with a bad haircut. There is now a clear line down the side of my head because my stylist didn’t blend anything.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Start all over. Fire everyone. It has been a lot of years since I had my first haircut at SportsClips. That first time was in Fayetteville Arkansas and I immediately fell in love with the concept. It was like Hooters for haircuts. Brilliant! Kind young ladies gave fast nice looking haircuts in front of sports on tvs. If that wasn’t enough they’d massage your scalp with minty smelling tea tree shampoo and put a warm wet towel on your face to help you relax and open your pores. After that, but nice young ladies would give you a neck and shoulder massage to further help you relax and add value to your salon experience. All those extras added value and justified the salon level pricing. Since that time, I have have gone back for dozens of haircuts and seen the experience in an overall decline eve since. To that point, I quit going to the location closest to my house a couple of years ago because the rude treatment had gotten to unacceptable levels. For some months I drove past that location to another one 15 minutes up the road where they were st least not mean. It wasn’t many months after that that location on Dale Mabry closed for good. It was a happy day! Capitalism in action. Sadly, the same pattern has developed in the Northdale location that I made my new regular place. Just last week I told my wife that I am done with SportsClips for good. I had received borderline and outright rude treatment there multiple times over the past year. I kept going back for the few that were nice, like the young lady with the buzz cut haircut. Unfortunately, I do not see the nice people anymore. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to go there because SportsClips does not have locations near my home in Tampa. The bad service, high prices, bad location, and my last nightmare experience convinced me that remaining a patron is an illogical behavior that I must cease. My last haircut at SportsCllips went like this... I used the app to sign on. It told me the wait was 36 minutes and I was about 20 minutes away. By the time my son and I got into the location to sign on a second time, I was on deck and he was a six minute wait. There were only two ladies cutting hair and both had clients. Ten minutes passed and the first one was finished. Her client presented gift certificates as payment which the lady did not know how to use. Ten minutes later the other lady stopped cutting hair to try and help with the gift certificate. They then began calling people on the phone for help. The one lady goes back to her haircut and finishes. If her paid, I didn’t see it happen. The register was still tied up. Half hour goes by and it’s after 7 pm. I start thinking that I might have to skip this whole haircut thing because my son has an 8 pm bedtime and we still had to drive across town and fix dinner. At this point neither of the only two people there were cutting hair. Eventually the lady who didn’t have gift certificate problems called on us. I let my son go first because he was getting antsy and tired. The gift certificate lady finally leaves the register and calls some other guy from the seats who was behind me on the waiting list. She made some comment about how long he was waiting trying to justify cutting me in line. After a bit my son was done and the same lady cut my hair. The entire time both women kept apologizing about how long it all took and blamed it all on a big rush. So here’s the rush. When my son and I walked in there was one man in waiting and two getting haircuts. One of those getting haircuts was gift certificate guy. The other was I didn’t see him pay guy. The guy in waiting was cut the line in front of me guy. Nobody came in after me. They were almost finished with gift certificate guy and didn’t see him pay guy when we got there. So the big rush was just me and my son. The way they kept apologizing meant they knew something was going to come of their awful display. So, while I don’t care if I see another SportsClips in my life, Kudos to you for knowing you have a problem, eve night if it is too late.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

The stylist who cut my son’s hair (which is NOT the person who checked us out) did not cut his hair at all like the picture she was shown. To add insult to injury she denied that fact (it was obvious it wasn’t even styled or cut correctly compared to the picture) and became defensive. Lastly, she insisted our frequent customer card did not say “free MVP haircut” but that we were only to receive half price, when the card clearly stated a FREE MVP haircut. She argued with me loudly enough that the other stylist checked us out under her name because Blanca refused to conduct the transaction. I have been faithfully taking my son to Sport Clips for years, but this last experience was a nightmare. If she had just “owned” her mistake and been apologetic it would have kept us as a customer. She was rude and defensive. We will not return to Sport Clips Northdale. I was so angry and disappointed. Thankfully, my son took it in stride, but she completely chopped off all the hair he had been growing out for months. Sad and wounding experience.
