How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I got a haircut yesterday at the Sport Clips Haircuts of Tampa at Northdale (7/23/2020) around noon time. I have been coming for years due to the professional, friendly, and high-quality skill set of those who work there as staff. I could go to other places, especially with the issues of coronavirus and economic struggles I'm facing, as many are at this time. Places cheap in cost, etc. But I've gotten great service through the years and wanted to support a company that has shown in it's high standards...to be worthy of such loyalty.

I enjoy getting haircuts at this place. I leave feeling like a million bucks and with a great haircut. But yesterday was different. I had the worst haircut experience of my life...

I walked up to the store and saw a man in the staff attire, standing outside. Which was a first, I've been coming here for years and never met a guy who works here. Nothing wrong with a muscled, tattooed, black guy working at a predominately female company. I thought this would be an interesting change, to talk to and interact with a guy, while getting a hair cut...

But from the first, I don't know if it is PTSD, if he's a veteran or not. But the man who never told me his name was wound up tight. He was rough with my haircut, dropping stuff, repeatedly using the F-bomb to complain about stuff, belching, nicking my ear, unprofessional and rude.

When I sat down to get a haircut, he did not know my measurements, nor did he bother to look them up on the computer. I gave him the details...showing a picture (on my cell phone) of how I wanted to look, from a model's hair style. The man at Sport Clips (mockingly) laughed and derided me, more than once, with such commends, as "I'll never look as good as that." Which is true, I am not a model. I am aware of that, but I don't need to be made fun of for wanting a nice hairstyle. Like I said the guy was rough in his hair cutting and angry. This is stressful when someone who is agitated is standing over you, tapping your head like a drum with a cutting instrument and using the hair cutting cord like a jump rope, having the cord go back and forth over my head.

He kept laughing at the haircut he was giving me. And when he had watered down my head, and had it spiked up, like I had just been electrocuted, he laughed and said, "this was how you wanted to look from you picture, right." It was not. I left with wet (cut) hair in my face, my hair spiking up like a retard and feeling like trash. I got into my car and combed my hair and it was uneven with strands of hairs sticking up, in different places. I've been trying to use scissors to remove this problem.

I noticed, his hostile vibe was making the other costumers uncomfortable. What is usually a talkative place was quiet and hushed...by those who were there.

I have gone to Sport Clips, because they have high standards and do exceptional work. I've been loyal for that reason and I have been willing to pay more for high quality service. But this guy had no social skills. He seemed by his behavior, either due to stress or some mental/emotional issue to be unhinged, (by his behavior). I also got a low-quality cut, I paid good money, for high quality. I did not pay for something an untrained person could have done for me in my own home...for free.

The ladies who have cut my hair in the past were detailed, thoughtful, and skilled. I have a balding spot in the back of my head and in the front, they always work around these noticeable issue areas. He did not. The areas are worse looking, then before the haircut. I doubt there is more than one guy at this place and...even less likely to have the mentioned details I gave as descriptions. As I said, I don't care if it was a male or female who cuts my hair. But I do care about treatment and responsible behavior when I am getting a hair cut.

I'd give this place a 100 percent rating and many more years of loyal attendance if it was not for this circumstance. The women who have worked with me through the years are worthy of praise and I'm grateful for their hard work.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I was disappointed in your refusal to accept cash. When i brought it up with the person at the desk, he Informed me that he hopes your store shuts back down again because “he makes $875 a week anyway”.
I will find a local barber to support as I would rather give my hard earned money to someone who wants to work. This man who appeared to be at least mid 30’s was a sorry example in front of my young sons and i will not be taking them back to this establishment again.
I run a business as well and deal with cash. It is not that hard to do so. I am also working very hard to raise responsible young men. It was good for them to see someone behave this way, so that they can know what not to do. But, i will not give them the example of continuing to support it.

Hair uneven on top and sides, it seem that stylist are off a little never have I got bad hair until the last two. I use sport clips national.

I got a haircut on 6/2 I asked for a medium fade with the top being 1 1/2 inches max. First she only took split ends off and asked if it was OK( my hair was about 7 inches long upon arrival). So I told her no and then she took about an inch off and asked if it was OK. After I told her no I'd like it 1 1/2 inches long on top she proceeded to cut it about 1/2 inch long. Basically giving me a buzzcut with scissors. When I brought this up to her she said she could fade it up and she then cut a line on both sides of my head leaving a shelf look which is also uneven not that being even would have fixed it. This is the second cut out of the only 2 I've gotten from your company and both have been a disaster. There seemed to be a language barrier or it was because it was the end of the day but regardless I and now stuck with a horrible haircut. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it because it grows back but then I saw this email and figured someone should know. I believe this will be my last cut in your establishment.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

He cut my ear with scissors (drawing blood) and combed through my piercing (also drawing blood and causing it to become infected). I have pictures of the injuries sustained. Throughout the process, he kept telling me how he preferred my hair a different way and that I should have done something else. That did not make me feel good about the work he was doing. Not a pleasant experience and by far the worst hair cut I have ever had, but I still paid and tipped. Honestly, I would like a full refund and the cost of replacing my piercing so I can have it redone once the area has healed.

I came to get my hair cut, not get mutilated and verbally abused.
